So, here's a few things I've been thinking about doing:
First and foremost, stat limits. I'm thinking of making 255 the MAXIMUM stat increase naturally for each character, and to keep it at 255. I'm sure I can do this by having a parallel process running in the background to keep stats from going above 255, but I'm not sure if this applies to equipment bonuses as well or not...reasoning behind this is to give monsters a fairer chance of doing damage with physicals than they are. I don't like having to have to set a monster to 999 attack in order to do 500 some damage. Not good enough for me! And I don't like having absurdly high stats on anyone really (mainly due to it would make Keine ridiculously overpowered in the game, another reason why I'm thinking about doing this). What do you guys think?
Secondly, EXP values. I'm not sure how to do these anymore. I'm not talking about the "per level up" EXP, I mean more with the EXP earned from battles. I think so far in the game, EXP values are TOO high and can result in easy level ups. Early game areas would end up being a prime source of leveling up with no effort, which is something I DON'T want to have happen really...anyone have any suggestions for this? Sidequests/missions that will be installed later are supposed to help with gaining EXP and Yen but...
Thirdly, Level 5 Death is FULLY functional in the game. Hurray! Though I dread of thinking of doing Level 2 Sleep, Level 3 Petrify, etc.
Next, I am thinking of adding a Reverse spell to the game, though whether it'll be Blue Magic or an ability for Sakuya, I do not know yet. It will function as a status reverser. Positive statuses become negative and vice-versa depending on the status. For instance, Poison would become Regen, Venom would become Regen/MP Regen, Slow would become Haste, etc. Granted, not ALL statuses will be prone to this. And this is meant to target EVERYONE in the current battle as well.
And lastly, Flare Star I'm thinking of making it like its FFIX counterpart, in which it'll do damage equal to target's level x50. I think that would work well enough, though it would become non-elemental but oh well~
Beta3 segment is completely done now as well, and am currently working on the real part of the game (beta4). I will also be installing new command abilities and animations into the game at this point, and SDM's revamp as well as possibly Misty Lake's revamp. Quite a bit of work going on here, but it'll be worth it in the end.
