So I wrote a poem while I was doing nothing at work. It seems kind of (childish??), in my opinion anyway. But that's because I don't have high standards for my literature. And sorry for the Americanism, I just couldn't think of anything else to put in for Jersey.
During those dark Jersey nights
During the full moon twilight
With the radio comin' through my old '55
Like when we first met, I'll never forget
With fire in our hearts, like when we were sixteen
Drivin' down the 101, without a care in the world
We didn't think twice, you always understood that
But I always have remembered, in case you're wondering
We always loved the blues, singing that old soulful melody
In your due time, go to sleep, cool out your head
But let it out of your young, wild heart
And I never got to tell you, so I just wrote it down
During that dark Jersey night.
