Control Keys are unresponsive?

Recently while using RMXP, I found my control keys are either utterly unresponsive or bugged. For example:

The instant I intialize the game, the character begins walking automatically towards the left. Afterwards, the sprite is rendered completely immobile. I attempt to control the character as I would normally, but it remains stationary in that one position. The character shows some sign of movement, as when I hit a particular control key at random, the "walking up" (the animations that displays when the character walks upward) for a split second. But other than that, the sprite is a stagnant.

Does anyone know what's going on? ???

This happens with every RMXP game I play, even my own playtests. (BTW: It IS NOT my control keys that are broken, they work flawlessly on everything besides RMXP, which leads me to believe there is some internal issue with the program. But I'm not sure...)

Make a new project. Don't do anything to it. Just make a new one and then play test it immediately. If it fails, reinstall, if not, then stop using hidden autorun events and forgetting you put them there  :smbc:
