Is it possible to have in the menu before you start playing a choice of a different story line. Like two different parties of different people?
Please reply.  :)

Just have the very first map be a "menu" (i.e. make a chipset that looks like a menu) and have the player pick who they want to play as from there. If the player picks one starting choice then have the hero teleported to the start of that storyline and vice-versa for the other option.

So, just make a second menu but as a map? Do you think you could make a diagram or example please?

Well, in my game I have a few custom menu systems that use maps. One is a party select screen, for example:

All I did was make a chipset that looked like the menu and then changed the hero-graphic to be the finger pointer. The rest is just the events you want to happen and moving the arrow between the right places. Your's would basically be similar to this selection screen, except you'd just have two options and the two different parties would be shown on the right...

Or however you wanted it to look.

Thats a really good way, it will look very stylish.

But, if you are unable to pull it off, make the first map a tri-map thing where the player has to chose one of the lands, or make the first map a "map" (as in, map) where the player has to enter the forest or mountains or whatever.

Or make it a normal map with random stuff and add that option-choosing event

An even easier way to do this, is to have some old guy in a dark room. You walk up to him or he walks up to you and gives you the choice of stories, just in the text box.
