[RESOLVED]have a problem protaining opening my project :\

How This Happened
Ok So I have been working on this project for three yrs over all and have had to start over twice, on because of the new game maker (RMVX) So im not new to it at all but I have never seen a problem like this. So after working on my Game for a while I took a break for a couple days and hadn't touched my computer, and about 4 days ago I got a briliant idea for my game and went to get on and when I tried to open it....nothing except a window popping up.

Problem
The Window that pops up is a small window that says "Unexpected File Format" and then I click ok and it cancels the game and goes to the screen when you have no current project opened. But the thing is I have other projects and all of them work fine but this one; Project Konkoden, will not.

My evaluation of The Problem
Ok So I tried just about everything I could think of to try and fix this problem such as; System Restore, Checking all file formats, Virus scanning, and replacment files. So all the file formats are fine and normal nothing is different about them that I can tell. but after doing a few "Experiments" I figured out where the problem lied exactly, I just don't know what to do to fix it. The problem is the "Game" File, the one that opens the game to edit it. I don't know whats wrong with that file or how to fix it (Obviously) But I was hoping that someone else would know. Create new game -> copy new created .EXE over the old file.

Start creating backups!

Well I tried that but it won't open because of common events can't be found lol :\
I have everything backed up except maps events Scripts (Witch was really retarded of me) and things like that but I have all my music gaphics SFX character stuff all backed up but there is sooo much in it that if I can't fix then I'm dropping the game I can't recreate it there was too much I did not back up. I'm thinking my RMVX is broken though cause this morning Found non of my side projects will play, I can edit them but none of them will let me play them, If you know a way to get my common events to work on a new project if I were to re-download RMVX please tell lol cause I can't get it to work thnx though

Ok so I mostly fixed it, I had to replace the Commen events, and the areas files in the Data file, lol only thing now is I gotta replace all 250 commen events any way, umm I have one last questoin; Daos any1 know how to read the data files? I was hoping I could figure out what went wron so I can fix it maybe and not have to retype 250 commen events because I dont even remember where I all had them at lol but anyway thnx for any help

Did you try copying over CommonEvents.rvdata in the data folder into the new project's data folder?

Well I tried but it just keeps saying could not load Common event data, I replaced it with a new one but still if you know A way to fix the old one please tell thnx for the tip though

Ok I found it out kinda lol I got everything back on track and working normaly lol I was bieng such a noob :\ I got for some stupid reason COmmen events mixed up with Switches. but ya thnx everything is back on track
