Was wondering if anyone could help me, I just got a new motherboard with onboard sound/graphics (pretty decent, but could be better). I installed XP Pro SP3 on a new hard drive, and all the drivers included with the motherboard disc, except the audio drivers (VIA 1708B, if that's the model than that's it) won't install. It gives me an error saying "We can't find HD audio device". Unless I'm really misunderstand this (I don't know much about sound cards, so it's leaning towards that area), it sounds like it won't install, because I don't have the proper devices installed, even though I installed all the other drivers the motherboard came with and that the sound card an on board one?

The other drivers included were the graphics card driver, nvidia HDMI home driver and AMD quiet'n'cool driver.

Help would be awesome.  =]

So do I have to reinstall my OS or just go back to SP2?

Anyway, thanks for the advice!  ^-^

Is onboard sound enabled in your BIOS?

I don't have any experience with sound cards, but it wouldn't hurt to check.
