Alright..so..for a little project I've just about got done, I need some fast paced and/or dire sounding battle music and boss music. I'd like them to be in the style of traditional Japanese music (links to examples at the end) and include instruments such as or similar to: Shamisen (string), Taiko (drum) and Shakuhachi (bamboo flute). I would like the composition to be fairly simple, with very few instruments with the shamisen providing the lead, the taiko providing power and the shakuhachi providing the flourishes and variety. The songs can be loosely or primitively structured, see references for the style.  Other imtruments that could be used for spice: biwa, koto, primitive bells, primitive drums, vocal elements (chants, grunts).

For the battle BGM, I would like a fast paced melody utilizing mostly shamisen and taiko, some shakuhachi could be used but not as a major component. It should portray a sense of motion and aggression, but not exceptionally dire. It should loop well.

For the boss battle, I would like all three instruments used in part. It should be powerful and portray a sense of mystisicm (not mideval magic, more like ancient gods and spirits). Okami's battle and boss music is a very good reference point for the feel of it. It should also loop, but could be a fade loop.

I don't have a ton to offer, I'm not in the position to offer art at the moment, I suppose I could offer mapping if someone wants it.

Thanks for checking it out, let me know if I need to post more information.

Oh wait..one important note:

The game this will be used in is by no means SERIOUS. So, if the piece strays from the norm or isn't really to the theme, it won't screw with the game's feel. It's a complete farce and mostly for irreverent fun and ridicule.

Joy, I started doing something for you, but my writing program doesn't run correctly with a dual core system. I need to find a new virtual soundfont machine thing, and then I can work it out for you.

I'd love to, but composing isn't anywhere near my list of skills :(
