Hey just wondering,

how do i place a movie at the start of the game?

i want it to appear after you select new game.

If you know how to do this i would greatly apreciate it

There is no way to do this with eventing, so i can't help you there.

One workaround i see people do is put the movie at the beginning of the game when you start it, which would be much better anyways, most people watch those movies once(Unless they are particularly awesome) and then never look at it again.

You can do it with eventing, but it may look a little weird.

Make a map, go to the second layer, fill it with blank tiles. Chose a blank sprite for a hero and set position so the game doesn't bug you

As soon as the game starts - play movie.

The screen is black so a one second gap won't be much of a problem.


The other way is tinting the screen as the game starts but then the players will be able to see your map

I meant that black door type tile, which is in the second layer.

The other way is to make a 240x320 simple avi, but that might be going a little bit overboard, and it would have to be completely 256 colours anyhow

All i wanted to do was put a short movie with a sound effect that says DIGITAL.media

i was thinking of kinda making a short movie in movie maker like 3.5 secs long and then converting it to avi would that work if i imported it?
