I followed this very simple tutorial from this website to create the following sprite:

http://www.gamespp.com/tutorials/ConvertingArtToSprites.html

Sketch

Trace over the sketch in Photoshop or other program
(preferably one with layers)

Color the drawing below the Traced layer

Merge your layers and choose your transparency color
background (I used green in the final)

Resize the image (I used 30X45 which will fit in the RPG
Maker XP's 128X192 sprite set rather easily, you can crop
what you don't need) and here's the Final Sprite

It's still a bit rough, but it shows you what you can do if you
don't want to do each pixel by hand (which I wouldn't) and
now I'll be able to make sprite sets a lot faster.

Maybe some of you can benefit from this too.

Cheers.

Very nice, I should move this into the tutorial database, the Gallery is for just artwork and not RPG Maker, ya dig?

I wasn't really sure where it went, cause its techically for 'art' but its for sprites which are for RPG Maker, heh. But thanks for the heads up.  ;D
