Hiya, like the subject says, I'm J. Edward Edens.

I grew up with the classic Squaresoft RPGs of the SNES generation, and my first love was Final Fantasy 2 (IV). Needless to say, I couldn't get enough and proceeded to fall in love with Final Fantasy 3 (VI), Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana (as far as the Square games for that game generation). I continued to play the ones on PSOne and they all still hold a special place in my heart, but the ones for SNES do the most.

Anyway, I was really glad to find this community, and can't wait to get to know some of you, I've floated around the forums a little bit and have already seen great advice and what seems like a lot of cool people too, heh.

I started making games when I was 11 or 12, programming on BASIC and QBASIC just making simple text games, but was more interested in art than programming, so I became an illustrator/graphic designer.  But, I've always wanted to tackle video games (especially RPGs) at one point and have several stories developed that would make good classic RPGs. I tried the RPG Maker for the PSOne and it was really cool and all, but so terribly limiting when it came to saving information and distributing it.  I recently thought about picking up the idea of developing a game and looked up for newer versions of RPG Maker and XP caught my eye.

I'm currently researching my first game, everything from music, sprites, and understanding the whole RPG Maker XP mechanics.  I fully intend to customize as much as I can.

Like I mentioned above, I'm an illustrator/graphic designer by trade, I've also written and directed a short film called "Last Session", occasionally draw a webcomic called "Far From It" and have played in bands and recorded 3 LPs with my band Shoat.  I really want to get into games now.

You can check out some of my artwork etc @ these links:

Welcome. I am not a plagiarist.

I am someone who posts humongous welcome posts. To start off with things, you'd be wise to read this, so you don't get in trouble for doing something you had no idea about.

Also a thing to be aware of. It had dimmed down lately, but you'd be best prepared for everything. Don't be offended if a number of people flame you, it basically means nothing. It's a trial by fire organized by those of aberrant sexuality before they welcome you to the forum in truth.

Don't be offended by said group not being afraid to hide their sexuality, they just like a place to say it seemingly. Use the search button to find answers to questions that you might have. Who knows, it might have been asked already. That helps avoid people from flaming you or dumbing you down.

Follow the rules..and don't join the flaming crew. If people say something, that relates to an incident that might HAVE happened in the past on this forum, you might be like "what are they talking about." Suggest you get briefed about "Important stuff" so as you don't repeat something people hate by reading some of the wikis.

Now, a recent issue that has come up is that if you happen to get into a fight with another member, try to not let it get too out of hand. (Ya, it's the internet, but you wouldn't believe all those that have had this problem).

What a long post. Welcome to the forums, follow that, and no one should bother you. Except those that have nothing better to do then that, but just ignore them.
