I don't know why Stencyl was mentioned in this thread, lol. Enterbrain likes making their programs worse and more limited (Vx lol). Enterbrain likes to make their programs limited to the kind of games they want you to make.
# Platformer (side-scrolling) games are possible. Can be done in Stencyl lol.
# Shmups (shoot-em-ups/shooters) are possidle. Can be done in Stencyl lol.
# Action RPGs (like Zelda) are possible. Can be done in Stencyl lol.
# Finished games can be ported to Xbox Live. That's sort of neat. =o
# Completed games can be exported as Flash (embeddable for websites). Stencyl games can be embedded. e3e
# Supports hi-definition on the Xbox 360. Not sure if there's a max resolution for Stencyl games. e3e
# It seems as though the engine supports scoring systems. So does Stencyl.
# It seems as though the engine supports HUDs. So does Stencyl.
# Game resolution seems flexible. So is Stencyl's
# Movement appears to be pixel-based. Movement can be whatever the hell you want it to be in Stencyl.
From the site it says its even compatible for Vista and XBOX360 ;-; Stencyl is compatible with Windows, OSX, and Linux, including the games and the program.
At least this one has a release date unlike Stencyl. :x Stencyl is scheduled to release this year in English.
lol. if that's real, then unlike stencyl they have a team that works ;p Jon is coding Stencyl all the time, and Stencyl is being alpha tested as we speak. e3e;;
Honestly if anything Enterbrian saw the hype of stencyl, then decided heck we can do it faster. They're doing something entirely different. Unlike Action Game Maker, Stencyl isn't limited to a couple genres. It's limited to whatever you're able to create using little snippets of code. Or you could just use the pre-made engines, bro.
scripting? y/n There's scripting in Stencyl~~~~`~`
rawr rawr, stencyl wins. it doesn't exist though ;v
