so I downloaded Chrome so that I could check if the site I'm working on works in it.
It crashes on load.

It is in beta. O_o I think you have way too high expectations from google or you forget that is beta release.

I wouldn't say they "automatically fail" for trying to expand their market. Also, I really don't think Google is desperate for anything, being the most popular search engine and all. The browser might suck, but lets not get crazy.
