When I've just successfully made a short game, I checked everything. I test played it, I checked all the music files and the graphics. I did so and nothing was wrong. I even clicked the Icon, and it opened properly. But when I clicked the compress game data button, everything went topsey-turvey. I clicked the test play button, but it said "Failed to create process.". Also when I clicked the game Icon, nothing appeared. I did some research, and copied the whole RTP into the game folder, but still, nothing happened. WHY!?

Strange. Well, I can only think of two reasons why this problem might be happening.

1. You're trying to compress too many resources. I've seen it where trying to compress over 150mb on certain computers will not work properly for some reason. Then again, I've also seen some games with almost half a gig of resources compress without a problem. But just to double-check, look to see how much space your total resources take up, and if it's rather large, try reducing it down.

2. You might have a corrupted file somewhere. Try quickly creating a new project, compress it, and see if you get the same error or not. If it still has an error, then I'd say you have a serious problem.

Umm....
Well... First, it only takes up about 21 mb in total. It does so because I made it only bacause I wanted to test RPGXP. Second, it's the 3rd time that it happened. I can play a game that I make normally if I don't compress it. If I do, clicking on the game icon produces nothing, Test Play and Battle Test just displays "Failed to create process". I don't know whats happening and this has been my problem since when I first got it, which was last March.

I had this problem and I think I can help you!

In the folder where the 'Audio', 'Graphics', 'Animations' and 'Data' folders are there should also be 3 other files: the 'RPGXP Project' file, 'Configurations File' and 'RGSS Player'.

If you have the message 'Failed to create process' when trying to play test, for some reason the 'RGSS Player' file has been moved, deleted or corrupted.

To resolve this, delete (or move elsewhere) the 'RGSS Player' file IF IT IS PRESENT in your game's data folder, create a new project and copy the 'RGSS Player' file in that project's data folder into your game's data folder.

Message me if this doesnt work.
