Some of you may have heard, but I'm creating a short 40 minute "horror" game in which you focus entirely on solving puzzles within a mansion. I'm almost finished, but unfortunately I'm running out of ideas for new puzzles that are more than just "Get item A and use it to open door B". I need puzzles that are more like "You have a 3-ounce cup, a 5-ounce cup, and an 8-ounce cup. Pour exactly 4 ounces of water into a bottle without going over."

So, in an attempt to get the creative juices flowing again (and to possibly "borrow" an idea or two), let's open a discussion about puzzles in video games. Think back to any game you have ever played, whether RPG Maker created or not, and shout out a random puzzle that sticks out in your memory.

Well, one can be the famous search for the missing number codes by reading books & these have a certain code.

Rearrenge a certain item where it belongs, say a Book belongs in a bookcase but you have to put the biology book where the silver chandelier is to which goes to the Statue's missing left arm to open the secret pathway.

Then, there's that switch that opens a door but you gotta shoot it with a bow or gun.

Turning rooms around to get to the Boss's treasure chest key.

The Labirinth that is always the same, that you have to hear careful to find your way out.

pressing switches in a certain order.

Turning the Light on.

Weight items to make the bridge works.

=X my brain is burning.

The "lost forest" kind of map, where you have to go to the right directions otherwise go around aimlessly.
Be kind, everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.
