Okay, so I've narrowed the title of my game down to two choices, and they are:

Carrion Comfort
or
Blood in the Ether

Carrion Comfort is a reference to a poem by Gerard Manley Hopkins that deals with some of the themes in the game. It's also a pretty cool name, but it doesn't refer to plot at all. I am also afraid that it calls up the image of carrion crawlers, which I've always thought are dumb and have nothing to do with the game at all.

Blood in the Ether specifically references a major object in the plot of the game and also deals with some of the major themes. It might be too long.

You loved it.
In my opinion "Carrion Comfort" is an appealing and interesting name, The aformentioned poem is indeed a peice of work. I would suggest it over the other name, Blood has a feeling of cliche when used in names, think of all the stupid fan-games made with Blood in the name. An example: "Final Fantast: OVER 9000! Blood Strife. I hope it helps.

Thanks - that is helpful and you are right about it's overuse. I will take your comments into consideration.

So far, Carrion Comfort is winning anyway  :police:

I voted for Blood in the Ether, since it makes more sense to make the name based on the game, such as the first Final Fantasy was(long story, for those who don't know it). Anyway, it was also a bit harder to choose a choice, since we have no idea what the basic plot is. Oh well, Ether was my choice, and Ether it shall stay.

Carrion comfort would be nice. Blood in the ether is a little cheesy XP.

Only a little though. They would both be good names. I'd play both of them  ;D

Carrion Comfort is certainly the more original name, but at least for me it lacks that "ring" to it that establishes your project as legitimate. A title is a very, very small part of the process though, so if CC is what you finally decide on, you'll be no worse off for it.

Blood of the Ether has two cliched nouns in it, but that doesn't mean you can't work in this direction. "The Ether Bleeds," "Bleeding Ether," "Ethereal Red," just throwing out some names out there that don't quite have that same cliched feel to them.

This isn't a life or death decision though. I think everyone here has faith in a successful product from you regardless of an arbitrary title.
