Somebody suggested this anime to me a while back, and I never got around to watching it until this weekend, but damn it was really good. It's a very character-driven series about students in a music school. It's got some great comedy, some nice drama elements, and a positively exquisite score with lots of amazing classical orchestra and piano pieces. Really, I'd watch the series again just to hear the soundtrack. And I really liked how they always tell you what piece is being played, with Opus numbers and all that. The pacing is pretty decent, too. No backtracking or recapping, just straight through the whole way without feeling rushed. Oh, and the animation for people playing is really amazing.

It kind of opened my eyes about being a musician a little bit.

So, if you're in the mood for a comedy and some great classical/romantic music, check this out.

It has, like, a 9/10 on anidb FYI

It actually did, because I knew a lot of the pieces and composers, and they captured what it's like to be a music student pretty well what with all the practicing and worrying about what you're going to do after you graduate and things like that.
And thanks to this series I have a new love for classical music.
It's a very refreshing series, a welcome break from all the angsty sci-fi recycled bullshit that's flooding the market.
