[Music] Electric guitar tapping technique?

can anybody like tell me how to, every time it sounds weird not like my brothers friend
youtube videos don't help me either

Hah, I'm a pretty good guitarist and I still have trouble with tapping like some people do.
I'd be interested in any advice people would post here, too.

well I have a tip, if you want a cool pick slide, slide the pick up the neck like you would but slide your index finger fretting the E,A, and D string from the first fret to 20th, it sounds a little more metal like 

BTW I play metal like Slipknot and Breking Benjimin, and Hard rock like Three Days grace

i play acoustic too, but cover's of Three Days grace and Buckcherry mostily on acoustic

For tapping, don't you just press the frets ?_? Like constant hammer-ons except with two hands? If it doesn't sound like it should, just try it and mess around with your pedal or w/e and see if you make it sound like that first.

Of course, what do I know? I'm just saying what it looks like that appears to be it.
