... I really hate them. I thought about making tiles of my own to replace the default tiles of VX, but when I realized how limited the tilesets were, I knew that those tile spaces wouldn't be enough for the rather varying terrain I have planned for my game. I could make only 1 or 2 floor/wall tiles for each area, but that would look horrible and make everything the same (in my opinion). So, I decided that perhaps a better alternative would be to draw backgrounds in Photoshop and use them as a parallax background... thingie, I guess. I've seen it done in a couple of rpgs I've played, though I can't remember the names. The only problem that I can see is that this might make the game's filesize pretty big with all the images. I think the only place I'd end up using tiles is indoors. xD; Gah. Such is the life of a Pelica that went from rm2003 to rmVX with nothing inbetween. X_0 I really wish the tileset system hadn't changed...
Anyway, which seems like a better/more logical/more efficient idea? O_0
XD Rofl. Now that I read over this, it sounds pretty nit-picky. I just want my first project with VX to be aesthetically pleasing... :3
