Why? (Liscense plates)

I was just wondering if anyone could help me figure out this simple yet perplexing question. Why is it, that when searching a number into a search engine, so many people feel the need to have images of a license plate that has the corresponding number on the image. It seems that the plates have no real special value, other than maybe what state there from. Any explanation would be appreciated.

I think it's because some people actually get paid to upload random pictures into Google.

I agree with Zylos, but what the hell.. I mean whats with the question.. why would you even think about license plates, when there is cake to be had..
