I just installed my new HD in XP for it to be seen by XP. After creating the partition and went to My Computer I couldn't help notice that the name of the Hard Drive and Drive letter was in a bright blue colour, what does this indicate?

I am not worried about it, but I am curious oh what this means.

it indicates that there is some form of compression on that drive to clone the effect on a normal folder:

right click->properties->general tab->advanced and tick "compress contents..."
