See, I wanna type Japanese and Chinese characters with my keyboard to my browser or MS word, but how did I do that?

I need some detailed answer.
And if you ask me to download language pack from Microsoft official site, I'll never be able to do that.

In the Regional and Language settings in the Control Panel, you can download the fonts or something there.
Haven't tried it but maybe......?

I actually have this same problem (characters display as ?'s or []'s). Going to Regional Langauge Settings from the Control Panel only works if you have the CD with which you installed the operating system, and Microsoft's official website is about as useful as scolding your computer and hitting it with a rolled up newspaper. So I'm at a loss here as well.

hmm i don't have this problem, though when i use jap or others i get them, though other people see them as []'s, well only people on laptops from what i have seen, are you using a laptop?

As you can see, that's not exactly the problem, though I suppose I shouldn't conceitedly assume that jap-oh-911 and I are in the exact same situation.

I've downloaded the plug in but it says:
The latest version of this plug-in is already installed.
And BTW, my browser can ENCODE the characters. They showed it well. But...
...I cannot seem to type any Asian characters except by copy paste-ing them.

Karo Rushe

go into the Reginal and Language area of the control pannel
look for a tab called Languages and make sure Install files for East Asian Language is checked
In that same tab is a button for Text services and input Languages
go in there and select the languages that you want to type in

This may or may not work thou...

You also had to add the Language bar
There is a button at the very bottom of the text services and input languages window for the Language bar
also has to install the services for Japanese and whatever language she wants to type in
you sould use the language bar to flip between input languages
Leave the keyboard setting the way it is though

If It doesn't work now, I failed and have to degree myself as Human Failure. D=

JAP

The Japanese is not even in the list of the scrolldown menu! =O

Then you haven't installed the language packs from the Windows CD then >__> But I don't think that's the case here:

hopefully, that will solve the problem

let me know later today if you need more help, although I don't think I can be of more help then this.
