Hm... Well... there came this issue with the engine...
It does not currently support sprites over 32x32 pixels in size. That limits us a lot, because the default RMXP sprites are 32x64, and so, the tilesets are made for that size. If we used the RMXP tilesets with 32x32 sprites, things would look weird. The sprites would be too small for the buildings and other map elements.
And so, we must choose other graphics. Or wait until the engine supports custom sizes. OR find myself a way to get VB6 to work on my stupid Vista, because I tried last night and miserably failed at it. If I had VB6, I could just take an open source engine and work with it to get what we want or need. But that is not the case.
I have been suggested to take and use other graphics. Some people mentioned RMVX's. But there are many who dislike the style, and feel that the tilesets are not very... interesting. So what do we do? I REALLY wanted the RMXP graphics. But that is not a good idea at the moment, and there is always something else... right? We just have to look, I guess.
Should we open a poll for this?
(Sorry that I am posting this here and not at the blog. I have a problem with my hosting account, for which the website is down, but I expect to solve it soon. Until then, I will use this thread.)
Thank you for your support.
