Here's a pic of what I made in it like 4 years ago  :tpg:

modern algebra

classic martian dastardliness, knowing about this program and not sharing; hoarding it to himself like an orphan hoards love.

Zeriab

I deleted the program before I joined rmrk.net (at that time crankeye.com)

modern algebra

suuuuuuuuuuuuure. We all know about martians and their "honesty"

I got a run time error because I made an insanely tall mountain. ._____.

This program is hard to use.

What? You're lying, those are in game screenshots from Naphe's game!

:tpg:

Leventhan

It's not that hard as long you check the size and height carefully.
I manually sculpt this. ;D

Oh yeah I heard everything in his game is in real time with extremely realistic graphics. Didn't he need  to build a new Super Computer just to play it?

Anyway, I would really like to try this program. It looks good, nice find!

SirJackRex

Yeah...how did you do that with so much detail?
My mountains are detailed, but the water and sunlight is pretty crappy.  :(

Leventhan

That, is by adjusting an option "Detail" in the Rendering Control Window.
Be Careful, though it will take a pretty big size.

By the way, TERRANIM !
It's to animate your Terragen panoramas.

Lord Dante

i just like it because it seems like it'll be easy to use with a tablet.

That, and you can rotate a selection in a full circle. Of course, you can do this in most things, but I dont have alot of diversified experience.

Dan80315

Wow I extremely blow at making panoramas with this program >_>

Nope, I got it super detailed once, then I changed the angle, and now it looks shitty again.. :/

What ?
The details or the panorama?
Well, if the panorama, it's all about the angles, right.
Place your camera at the right place, cuz it's possible your camera is inside a mountain. :o

w00000t I made another hundred :o.
This program rocks~~~ ;D

By the way, If you noticed, these two are made from the same world as before.
Just another angle. ;D

SirJackRex

How...?
I have the quality as high as it'll go...  :'(

I can't figure out how to make it look pretty, even with the quality as high as it will go.
Someone take a print screen to show me if I'm doing the right thing?

Go into the Clouds tab and set the clouds to 3D

In the terrain Genesis screen put the realism bar right up

In the render settings put the Atmosphere and Cloud bars to Max

Under the render preview button is a detail slide, put that right up

Hahahahahahahaha!
I feel so stupid.
I kept rendering the preview instead of the image!  ;8

EDIT: How do you add trees and control the amount of greenery?

Leventhan

I don't thnik trees are possible, but green colored ground is possible to add, I yhink.

Be kind, everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.

SirJackRex

No, I've seen screen shots of trees in it before...maybe only in the registered version.

iceflame1019

Trees are regis only...or so my computer-savvy friend says.  Although you could go the really long hard way and render a green blob in Blender 3D and put it onto the image from Terragen...

I like the flexibility of Terragen's effects...by turning the water red and the land and sky brown or black you can make a Death Crater panorama with lava instead of water... and by recoloring the ground you can get sky-views of a lush forest from a distance or a close-up of a snowy mountaintop (currently my desktop).  It's an awesome program, and apparently there's a way to import a terrain map into Blender 3D so you can work on it from there.  Haven't done it yet though...

Holy crap, lol. I was looking for the topic and couldn't find it, and then I was like, "Oh, Sticky!" I'm glad you're all getting decent use out of it. ^^

Edit~  LOL about Naphe, by the way. I bet when enough time passes, every part of his "game" will eventually be found somewhere on the internet.
