RMRK is retiring.

RMRK.net has nothing to do with Blockchains, Cryptocurrency or NFTs. We have been around since the early 2000s, but there is a new group using the RMRK name that deals with those things. We have nothing to do with them.
NFTs are a scam, and if somebody is trying to persuade you to buy or invest in crypto/blockchain/NFT content, please turn them down and save your money. See this video for more information.

How do you make an event where you can either be successful or fail, depending on some sort of roll. I'm sorry about the explaination, tell me what you don't understand if it is unclear what i want.

Randomness is completely set with variables...such as #1-#3, then use a conditional branch for the outcomes.

I am thoroughly confused by the the variable thing. Can somebody specificly explain to me how to use variables for what I want. I apologize, once again, for being a newb.

Heres pretty much what i want. It is similar to the "persuade" options in the dialogue of games like Knights of the Old Republic and Neverwinter Nights. I have set up an option in a dialogue that asks the npc to pay for a duty. If it is a successful roll, then the npc agrees to pay, if not then he says no.

thanks very much to anyone who can help.

(I'm using RM2k)

It is for RMXP though, but the principle is the same.
