It seems like the brilliant PSP firmware hacker has put down the OE glove, not a lot of people know why he did, some say that he was threatened and others say that he was bribed/given a job by Sony. This is all that was left on his site:

Quote from: Dark_AlexBye, scene.

I've decided to cease OE development, and leave PSP scene. The reasons are various. One of them is the time it consumes, which I'm losing from other things. The other is related to my security. I didn't like Sony menaces to PS3 hackers. I think it is better to leave now rather than end paying the consequences.

I think this is really sad, as the sale of PSPs must have risen as he was creating the OE firmware, which makes Sony look like it has shot itself in the foot. =/

What are your thoughts on the halt of OE firmware?

:)

its gay.
But the noobz have been doing good in the scene I think they can take it over  ;)
Watch out for: HaloOfTheSun

Noobz only did downgrades, so unless they figure out how to compile the firmware into a custom one, there is no chance of new custom firmware.
