hey, guess what? I'm getting a graphics tablet, eliminating the need for a pesky scanner!
YAY!

here's a mech I drew and colored in Fireworks. keep in mind this was my first time using said program, a tablet, and drawing mecha (for a while).

It isn't too big, so I wont put a spoiler on.

This is just a quick sketch done in Open Canvas: (I tried to color it, but for some reason, some f the white wasnt transparent while some was O.o)

I dont like how the coloring looks...on the organism part...A bit bigger, so spoiler'd.

note: the large blank space is where there used to be a crappy rail gun, but i erased it...so...WiP.

mech-man thing

(i know it looks messy, and that's because in this i was experimenting with shading with a pencil, and i cant quite get it uniform enough yet, but i will. also, i didn't define alot of the armor details...meaning, i wasnt sure so he has arbitrary armor chunks, but in the next version these will all be smoothed out)

I was practicing my perspective drawing. I have a .PNG without the gun so that more of his armor is visible, but I dont really want to upload it since it looks a little bit wierd.

yeah, it sort of suffers from being both too dark and from having that typical soft-edged painting look to it. Oh well though, all I need is some practice.

well, it's my own money...sure is nice to buy things yourself though ^.^

it really helps my art skills...although, I want to learn how to get past that certain "pillowy" coloring look.

Yeah, i have. the thing is though, that i was stupid and drew him and the things holding him in on the same layer, so...

1.) the coloring shows through and makes it look messy

2.) it's harder to edit

also, this was a first concept sorta thing.

Also, new mech is up. Took a few hours >.<
(keep in mind i hardly draw mecha)
Im thinking of drawing him in other poses later...

Your last picture, the Mecha-man thing, seems to be the best to me. Second favorite would have to be your "Super Secret Villain". I still think that he should be more refined, though =\

heh, yeah, that mech is probably one of my best drawings i've done so far. As for the villain, it just started out as a sketchy concept, but if/when I re-draw him it'll be better.

god damn, every single one of those is pretty much awesome. Sketchy, yes, but I don't really see that as a bad thing. Very very nice.
