It's a stacked, if you've never played super metroid, then, when you get an upgrade, it combines the beams.
I.E. Powerbeam + Charge Beam = adds the ability to charge
Wave beam adds the ability to shoot through walls
Ice beam adds the ability to freeze
wide beam I forgot
but...that's about it, and if it is going to be like that, then you can switch beams on and off, to do beam combos.

Uhh...I think it's only Wiimote.
Also, the Wiimote is supposed to be super realistic, I heard the controls are amazing.
