It did. And there have been many complaints that Rare is too busy making remakes of their classics (ie: Fuel Jetpac, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, etc.) and not putting any talent into newer ideas. For me, that's enough reasoning for why they were bought (I think they went bankrupt).
I'd actually like to see some newer games from them because their style of making games was always fun but lacked originality.
Any thoughts?
