Here's my one...

Why not make an area on this forum that Newb's and Noobs are restricted to until they graduate... once they make their 1st game an submit it then you upgrade the account and let em into the forum...

You can then choose if you want to help or ignor them...

I will go help em... I know the basics...

Good or bad idea...?

Maybe instead they should do a test like,

"What does the "Message" command do."
Or
"Where is the "Message" command located?"

And this will definately help filter out people,
"What is a switch?"

Whatever is decided (remember that it's up to crank, so our discussion here could really be useless if he disagrees... lol), let's keep in mind that making a game can take quite a while.

I like Ark's idea. A test could work, and at the same time, the test will help them learn.  :|

I can give examples why its such a shame to have Newbs cluterring up the forums... but I think you guys already know them...

Sub Menu:-
Introduce yourself
Most often asked Questions (Look here, if no answer then Post a Question)
Post a question (Remember to include the version of the RPG maker)
Show case area (Show off your work or skills to show you are worth to join)
Spam section

And thats all they get... let them browse the other area's so they can read and learn but not post...

Set up a ranking system... MODS can assign ranks... each month 10 of the best New starters could appear in a poll like thread and we can vote in who we most like...the top 5 get in the other 5 don't they stay in the new starters artea and hope they get renominated another day...

I duuno... you guys got any idea's on how we can cut out people starting threads left right and centre about the same shite... Like Knightwolf... bless him... He's gone and made one thread for Poems and then another for Poems on user on here... now the 2nd he has done a lovely seraid to BlueXx but I am sure other people will start making poems that are offencive about and directed at members...

Or some other nob jockey has gone and made two threads about joining Bear games... and all this took place in the last few hours...

So if you say 6 threads and say 10 posts an hour are just plain junk thats alot of shite... I just want things 4 MODS to be easyer then they can watch the site better and try to keep things calm....

Even if you dont make a full game... just a 5 Map Game would be OK... Just proof you can make events and use the layers and the programs wirth out being told 100 times how to double click and set an event !!

Hello knightwolf.. Now I like this guy... he is never offencive... But he doesn't go into all that much detail... now I don't think he should be able to come into the Intelligent forum.... especially to say... I don't know why I think some thing but...LOL

In fact, it would seem many of the more dedicated members of this forum don't really make RPGs. Though the forum in general is about RPG making... that is not all that it is.

And every one has read the top of the forum... THE RPG MAKER, Resource Kit... It does not have to be all about RPG maker... it could be the support of it... see below...

Things I would associate with members that would be put forward for nomination:-

Good Story lines - SL
Artwork for Titles and Game overs - ART
Char and Battler sets - CHAR BAT
Tile Sets - TILE
Mapping - MAP
Actual completed game - FIN
Helping other users in learning - TECH
MP3 or Midi creation - MUS
Scripting - SCRIP
Event and switch editing - EVE

When we actually give a new member the right to enter may be on their rank add a key so people know their best skills... that way if you get stuck you know who is best to ask for help for certain stuffage... like PM some one, rather than post... We could even encourage members to set up their own workshops...

Crankeye works as it is... but you guys must be able to see where I am coming from... its OK to say use the search button... but most of the time Over 30 threads come up... and around 98% arn't what you want...

Try searching for how to change the Menu you get on the title screen and how to change what it says... (Using the search button)

That would be cool... But I was thinking to earn your rank you hold a work shop in a workshop area...

Like if I had one it would be CHAR Sets and Battlers... and I may have another for custom Sigs...

The workshops are basically stickies... If people like your work then they can come direct to you....

I've got one. It's a bit more of a rule suggestion really, but I think it's good.
Make guilds only available during the summer. You know, when we all have time to do this kind of thing.

i think they should make a new guild bcz we are getting all kinds of new people that aren't noobs and know what they are doin...well most of the time...i want this bcz they locked up the guild so no one can join in....so that what i would like lol
