Music composer?

Hi
I'm just making a game for a hobby, and I was wondering if anyone knows of a good free music composer.
I've tried several but I find that they do not meet my needs
I would like one with various instruments, you can enter the notes seperately, as well as adding a harmonic backplay(?) if you wanted to.
Any help you can give would be great

I ended up using Anvil Studio

but this is really stupid of me, I cant seem to work out how to save it as a wav so I can use it in rpgXP's SE
(I bet its something obvious too  )

Any ideas?

Save it in the midi version, and then use a program like Synthfont to convert it.
