Half-Kaizers are tough, so I changed to using RTP. But, I need feedback.
My latest works -

Most recent battler update.

Spriteset! FINITO!

I re-shaded his shirt, completely!

Arithon

It doesn't look to bad but the hair looks like a bad hairpiece.  :P

Keep it up and have a look at other peoples works for technique and inspiration, I did some terrible ones when I started (remembers his sad attempt at a ninja) but they come along quite well now.

dollmage

with enough practice you can do it, oh yeah read more info on how to sprite hair :D
your hair needs a bit of shadow nad lighting

Revo

I agree with the others, but if it is your first, great job. Its a good first one.

The Shadow

Like all the others already had said, it's a good first attempt. But like the others, Im not a big fan of the hair. Looks like an helmet.

dollmage

please dont take our comments the bad way but for the first attempt it sure shows you have much potential =)

i think you should darker the middle part of the hair and give it a few light on the side

Halestorm5

I dont understand that suggestion dollmage XD. Im working on the back sprites from now. Also, I noticed a error on the second walking left sprite. His hand has vanished! Its fixed in the next show. :)

dollmage

sorry my bad

i dont know how to teach and note: english is not my first language ^_^
tagalog is any way this is what i wast talking about

i hope this explains the stuff i wanted to say

Malson

The problem is that the hair has no texture. It looks like an entire bottle of gel was used on it.

dollmage

woot

err >.<

here this tut should help you a bit

1)Start by making the outline of the hair in the darkest shade of the colour you're using.

2)Fill in the entire block of hair with the next shade up.

3)Make a 'zig-zag' with the next shade up, and fill in the rest of the hair, leaving the top 'zig-zag'.

4)With the next shade up, create another 'zig-zag' again, don't forget to leave the lest on your created.

5)With the next shade up, fill in the bottom parts of the hair, but don't make it a straight line, it doesn't look natural.
creds to hamsterman (for this tut)

dollmage

well i still think its good this is your first attemp and its very promising =)
but they did say a lot of comment about the hair

its up to you if you want to redo the hair

Halestorm5

If you want to know the hair style, read the spoiler.
His hair covers most of his head. His hair reaches to the back of his head from the mid forehead.
Also, if nobody/not many people like/likes the hair I will remake the hair. But thats after I finish the back. :)

I guess this is a small request, but...

Can someone make me some shadeless hair on the default RTP spriteset. But the shape, needs to be similar to my current spritesets hair. (No clothes are needed, just the hair)... ;9

SirJackRex

Couldn't you?

Just export it and cut out everything but the hair.

Halestorm5

Ok, I did that, I got the hair. But, the hair was wierd looking after I recoloured it soooo... using the tut Dollmage posted, inspiration from other sprites and sheer dumb luck... And a whole days worth of spriting... I made some pretty awesome looking hair...! (Well to me)

Ill update the first post with my latest spriteset change.

dollmage

im using edited half kaiser as template maybee you could resise and recolor this

Halestorm5

I don't really understand what you want dollmage. And, I havent has much progress on the spriteset yet except the upgrading of the round shoes, making them trainers. :)

dollmage

the hair you posted the wonderfull hair thing you said its maginificent 9/10 =)
