Saw They Might Be Giants live. It was a goood concert.

SO GOOD. Sword, why didn't I listen to you years ago? These guys are balls.
I got sick of them pretty fast actually haha, but yeah they're pretty good.

This whole album has been stuck in my head for days. One of Andy Hull's (Manchester Orchestra) side projects.
I usually don't like singer/songwriter solo shit but he makes it work for me.

You have to skip to 6:00ish for the actual song, but it's the best damn English version of Suteki da Ne from FFX that I've ever heard. It really brings out the emotion of the game to me and makes me remember why I loved FFX despite the number of people complaining about its linearity issues and lengthy cutscenes.

I remember how awful the original version was. That cat shrieking sound every time the japanese singer hit those recurring high notes, and still managed to make them all flat STILL gives me nightmares.

The english version has a very interesting approach to those repeated high notes. She still sings them a bit flat (meaning, the note a half step down), but then FULLY APPROACHES the correct note a half step up, nailing it every time.

I actually enjoyed listening to this. Really wish it was in the game.

As for me, I've been on a huge Queens of the Stone Age kick lately. I just got all the albums I was missing (the earlier two) and even got a few Kyuss and Eagles of Death Metal album. I plan on getting them all, and I really want that Desert Sessions album, but I'm waiting for the price to drop on Amazon.

Yes, I buy music now. I grew up, and started making money, lol.

I only buy music after Ive already listened to it, and I would never ever ever buy a digital album unless there were no physical copies.

I've always loved Built To Spill, but lately they've become one of my favorite bands. Doug Marsch just always seems like he knows exactly what he wants to write and he does a pretty damn good job at it.

I usually check out an artist through pandora, first. That's how I've found most of the new bands I've found lately.

I was strictly physical media, but some of Amazon's MP3 sales are too good to resist. I get a lot of credits for Amazon MP3, too, so it makes it worthwhile imo. Ultimately though for non-singles I still buy the CD versions or vinyl on occasion if I can find it cheap enough since I have a few good turntables and a way to jury rig a digital recording off of one of them.

If you like that band and you haven't heard of this, stop everything and listen.

That's some good stuff, man. I really want to say I've heard them before, but I can't say for sure. Anyhow, thanks for the good recommendation.

I can't wait for Friday. Supposedly the full single drops then.

Possibly from Donnie Darko, if you've seen that movie.

Pretty impressed with the guy playing the glockenspiel(?) and guitar on the same piece. Great use of synths too. This is pretty inspiring to listen to.
