activation code

Is it possible to use one activation code on more than one program? For example, let's say I downloaded the legal version of RMXP. I bought the game and used the activation code I was given to run it. But what if my friend uses the same code on his version (so he wouldn't have to buy it). Would it work? I guess I'm mostly concerned about somehow getting in trouble for it...I'm pretty sure you don't activate it online, so that shouldn't be much of a problem, right? I don't know. That's why I'm asking.  :)
[spoiler=My Game Recommendations] 1) Demon Gate --- A great game with a terrific character-relationship system, an engaging story, and plenty of secrets and options for players who wish to be good/evil.

2) Midnight --- A survival-horror game created with RPG Maker XP. Combat plays out in the smoothest running real-time battle system I have seen yet.

3) The Healer --- A charming game with beautiful mapping and a fun battle system. One of the few games to use a healer as a main character, and so far it's pulled off well.

For the legal version, they have this system that auto connects to their servers for registration. I personally havent bought the legal version and shared the code with anyone, but I think they have a system that doesnt allow duplicate registrations.

Oh, and for getting in trouble... Doubt it. I dont think anyone has made contact with Enterbrain in a while.

I'm not sure about using a code again, since I haven't tried it.
You certainly won't get in trouble.

And, for legal reasons I must tell you not to do it. ;)

Kokowam

For all the dumb people out there, that just means don't do it or you'll be put in "Da Slammah." ;8 If they do have a server, it will probably not allow you to do it.

Zeriab

It really depends what it says in the license agreement.
It should be in there whether or not you are allowed to have the program on two computers at the same time.
You will most likely not be allowed to share it with your friend. If you own the computer he uses in a juridical sense then it might be possible.

I tried it, and it doesn't work.

Hmm..what about if you get a new computer? You'd have to buy RMXP again. (Psst, my friend gave me his code and it works)

That would make it stop working...

Kokowam

There's a server where they make sure that a key doesn't get used by more than one person. XP Or so I've been told.
