[RESOLVED] a couple noob questions

i just downloaded this, i used to use the older RPG makers YEARS ago so im new to it again. Just for some messing around I put some trees on the area to start with and i test play and the background isn't transparent. The chip set is the default one so I don't know why it wouldnt work?
also I tried uploading a couple chip sets and it has a red dot next to it after I import it. then i click to go to make new map and that chip set isn't a selection for me to choose?

ok i figured out the first question, what about importing my own chipsets. it worked fine when I imported a character set

The red dot is normal, it just means it's one you imported yourself and it's not RTP. Now for the rest of it.

You need to go into the database-> tilesets.  Click the change maximum button, change the number to how many tilesets you will have total.  Then click OK.  Click the blank area, name your tileset, and choose the graphic.  Ta da.   Hope this helped.  Don't forget to set the passive/priority.
