Hi,
I was just thinking, why not make a battle system like Super Mario RPG's(Super Nintendo)  but I remebered that I am NO good at scripting. so I decided to ask for help...  does anyone know how to make a battle system like the Super Nintendo-Super Mario RPG?

I will add the person who helped me to the credits at the end of the game

Thanks

WTF? You mean you want a side scrolling RPG? I dont get it.
In super mario you just jump on the enemies head and they die, I dont think this is possible with RPG Maker.

Also you are requesting a script so shouldn't this go in the SCRIPTS forum?

Mewgull

There is a game for the Super Nintendo out there, called Super Mario RPG  It is an RPG game based on Super Mario(that means it has it's own battle system).
Does anyone know how to make a battle system like that, who ever played the game?

thanks

I've never heard of it, are you sure its not just super mario bro's or something? If you could describe the battle system someone may be able to help!

Mewgull

I'm sure it's not the Super Mario Bros. 3 or something
It's a real game
I will draw the battle system.  It will show up when I edit it

//www.google.ca for google :twisted:

3 People in Party:

2 People in Party:

1 Person in Party:

EDIT2: There are only 3 people in the battle field!!!

No luck

I searched and searched, and I found out that a lot of people are looking for the same thing as me!
does anyone else know what to do?

I am no scripter, but it dont take a rocket scientist to know this is gonna be an EXTEMELY hard script to make, the closest, easiest script to the one you want would be a side view battle system, from the looks of your screens this is from an isometric view!

Mewgull

but there is something wrong with the side view...
When my character is about to go and attack the person, he starts running in the same place...
whats going on?

Arrow

TMP, you are a silly man. All he has to do is use 2003, and move stuff around. The Monsters won't animate, but that's no big deal.

Dominus

LOL!  You've never heard of Super Mario RPG!  Hell SquareSoft even helped with the game, as there are some monsters from the FF series.  It's not quite Kingdom Hearts, (not even close) but there are a few things that deal with Square in the game.  I believe Paper Mario is sort of like a sequel to the game, but I'm not 100% sure on it.

Anyway are you using 2003?  Because how in the world do you change the battle system or the overall look in RMXP?  I hate this stupid first person type thing.  I like the Final Fantasy style.

Arrow

Well, in 2003 you would just need to set up all the characters to use battle animations instead of battle character sets, then arrange everything accordingly.
