I'm getting the same error as Horror. 
The little I saw of the game seemed pretty good, though.

I uploaded a new version... Lets call it take 1.

I took out where two characters appear out of thin air, so there is no "move event" function. I am hoping it is the move event function. Otherwise I will try taking out the Flash screen function. If its not that... I'll just take out everything :-)

Those are the only two special things, I for sure that it isn't the scripts... cause there are none.

It has always worked on my PC and laptop. Has it worked for anyone else? It worked for at least one other person that I know of.

I just downloaded it and gave it a shot, at the part in the orphanage, when Grenn?(sp) asks toby who he's laughing at, it freezes and crashes.

It worked for me, but I did have that judges edition she mailed out a week or two before putting it out to the public.

That crash makes no sense. Here it is in the command box:

There is nothing but dialog in there.

I have now taken out the little creepy line just to see what will happen now. Download it, try it. The game took me a month to make for an hours worth of gameplay and this little error makes no sense. Maybe if it was something more than dialog it would make sense.

Since your game is complete, it would be ideal to include an exe of the game that doesn't require RTP.

It doesn't require the RTP. People should be able to play it without having RPG Maker XP

I am thinking that whatever part of the program that makes the .exes is corrupt, cause nothing else makes sense. I do the encryption which packs the RTP in there.

Any idea on what I should do? I could perhaps cut out the entire scene, but its a VERY long scene, and it leads into another act that is in the same level of the orphanage. Without them, you don't really know what's going on in the game. Another reason I always had dialog instead of movement :-)

Hmm... I downloaded it again, (not the judge's version, and it got past that part fine. What versions of XP are you guys using? I seem to recall that there is some kind of bug with dialog boxes in PK, but I thought it had something to do with the lower-case j, and so I doubt that is the problem. Meh... I don't know...

But why doesn't everyone else's game crash there? Everyone else as in the other games that people have made.

Maybe its the pan function, but the game long since stops the pan, before that dialog.

Another thing is there are no player characters in the party until the grave sequence (long after the orphanage). Could that be it?

It worked fine for me. I use Enterbrain though.

It must be a problem with the versions.

Do you have Postality Knights or Enterbrain. Blue Dragon or Orange Dragon?

Enterbrain and the icon is orange with a dragon...

Hmmm... I could make it so it uses the dragon, which originally it used the dragon, but then I realized that the blue dragon is someone else's script. The contest doesn't allow you to use other people's scripts :-)

I've uploaded a new version that uses the blue dragon instead. That is how I originally intended the game to be, before I downgraded it back to the orange sun. Download it, see if it crashes. If it does, I'm all out of ideas.

i beat it as of last night. it was a really rewarding story to see it finished. the puzzles were really innovative too especially the enter, up, right that puzzle.

I think I now know what could be causing the crash. The timer in the top right hand corner :-)
