RIP Kurt Vonnegut Jr.

I devoured every book he wrote, and licked my fingers afterward to try and retain some of the taste. There were precious few authors like him, and I know that if all his readers will miss him as much as I will, his legacy will live on forever. If you haven't read any of his works, I suggest Cat's Cradle and Slaughterhouse 5. These are two of my favorites, and a good jumping-off point.

"So when my own time comes to join the choir invisible or whatever, God forbid, I hope someone will say, 'He's up in Heaven now.' Who really knows? I could have dreamed all this. My epitaph in any case? 'Everything was beautiful. Nothing hurt.' I will have gotten off so light, whatever the heck it is that was going on."

Vonnegut has no genre, he's more like very odd books. Its neither horror nor mystery, but sort of a bit of both.
