Alright...

FINAL FANTASY X... wonderful music in there, some haunting themes.  I listen to it while I work.

FINAL FANTASY XII... not a terrific story, but wonderful music.

"But then I realized, why stop things from exploding, when in fact it is in exploding that things reach their perfect form. Of course, they only reach it for a few glorious seconds, but during that short time there is no object in the universe more beautiful." -Kite Rockswell, the Mad-Mad Bomber, from The Final War, my very own novel project.  PM me if you would like to read.

Maple storys music is great, but not so great, i listen to other music while i mod it all up but the music was well composed and i think its okay, I think NFS underground has a cool St also
Good Bye. RMRK you were cool while I wasn't there.

JAP

Drakengard, unexpectedly, have a very nice soundtrack. Especially the English theme song, Growing Wings. It's so.. touching.
Kingdom Hearts series have pretty nice BGMs too. Yoko Shimomura did a good job.
Legend of Mana has nice BGMs. I can't stop listening to them.

Basically, RPG rules my world of game music. xD

Amalgamadora

I liked FFX's soundtrack. It brings a really nostalgic feeling to me. Also, i like that Rammstein song in the beginning. Makes blitzball look awesome.

I didn't really like any Final Fantasy soundtrack after 6. There are a few good songs here and there, but 6's was flawless.

Arwym

Nobuo Uematsu is THE GENIUS!

I am also enjoying Vagrant Story's HUGE soundtrack! (Thanks, Silverline!)

But no doubt that Frostwork Studios's first game will have some of the best music I have listened to in my life! <3

Blizzard

I loved Secret of Mana's Soundtrack and Terranigma's Soundtrack.

Everything about that game is great, though.

"The wonderful thing about Tiggers
Is Tiggers are wonderful things
Their tops are made out of rubber
Their bottoms are made out of springs

They're bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy
Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!
But the most wonderful thing about Tiggers
Is I'm the only one, I'm the only one."

I'm surprised there hasn't been a slew of "ZOMG FINAL FANTASY SEVEN!!!!!!1!!!!!11111"s yet.

The only song that was quite good appeared in FF9 as well. ::)

My favorite response from someone when I asked why FF7's soundtrack is so amazing was "Because he wrote it in less than a year!" LOL. That's actually a pretty long time to write a score.

Now that you guys mention, the GTA series - and even that lousy-but-still-good SCARFACE - have a cool feature that Morrowind and Oblivion also have: the ability to add your own MP3! I would love to add this feature to a game that i made, anyday!

People like you make it hard for composers to get work. You and your "mp3s".

Holkeye: That doesn't necessary mean to not put any soundtrack in the game... all the titles i mentioned have their OST, plus a large hit parade selection (that goes for GTA and SCARFACE).
... i still HEAR the music from Snes titles like Actraiser, Terranigma, DragonView (Drankken)and genesis/megadrive Splatterhouse, and Langrisser 2,YuYu Hakusho,Y's 3, sourcerous kingdom... :P

wow...looks like I'm the only one here who can openly say that I love most of the music in FF7.  One Winged Angel is THE SINGLE BEST track I've heard in a video game.  The battle music tracks are also really good.

I haven't played many games but I've heard the music from a lot of them, and thus far FF7 still ranks top in my list.
