RPG2K3 problems with XP Media Edition?

I have downloaded the RPG2K3, and have some experience with the old RPG2k system, i set up a small experimental world just to test  some functions...

only, when i tested the game, i had no control

The fullscreen is missing half of the screen on the left side, so i went to windowed mode to fix my problem

but i still have no control

my input from my keyboard does not register in the game

im stuck at the newgame-continue etc.  title screen

I have the XP media center editition OS and i meet the requirements for RPG2K3

I tried switched out the non ascii standard keyboard that came with the computer package (on of those key boards that does much more than the standard layout)  

I now have a standard PS/2 keyboard plugged in, but still nothing is working

so what went wrong?

Maybe you should re-instal rm2k3 and see if it works,or try to download from a diferent site,maybe the one you got is no good.

do you have any large events? rm2k3 has overload issues... (i should know, im a rm2k3 geek) it ussualy overloads on move event commands... and who includes the opreating system part any more (cept for mac users)...im stupid...

well i included the OS 'cause i dont know what else it might be

I have no events in my game.  thats right, NO events

i just opened a new project and hit test play.
