story? (im in the process of rewritting it so sorry)

Prologue:
“The Beginning of the End”

It started with a sin…I saw everything.

It was a pitch black night when a mother went into labor. She sat beside her mother to comfort her as she eagerly awaited her little sister’s descent into this world. The mother looked calm but she can sense her mother’s fear as if a storm was brewing. It was not going to be an easy birth.

She asked her mother,” Will everything be ok? I’m so happy that you’re keeping your promise… (A promise to give her a sister, that now seemed bleak).

The daughter was closer to her father than her mother; they’d always go out together leaving her behind. She never knew that this closeness to his father was the root of all her mother’s pain and this was hindering her mother’s happiness. She’d be left home by herself, in solitude and sorrow, with no one to comfort her increasing sadness. She needed someone to keep her occupied, so on the little girl’s birthday, she asked for a little sister, so her mother would not be lonely anymore. She’d have a daughter that will fill the gap in her heart and bring her smile back.

And indeed it happened, the mother got pregnant and now they’re expecting her little sister.

…but things didn’t go smoothly, she sent her daughter to bed, with the promise that tomorrow she’ll see her little sister. Just as the girl went up the stairs to sleep, the mother realized something odd. She could not feel the child in her womb so she asked her husband to call the village doctor. When the doctor came, he told them that there was a birth complication and that only one can be saved, choosing between the mother and the baby. The father argued with the doctor asking him to save both and so he tried. But alas, no miracle came to be.  That’s why it’s called a miracle…because they don’t happen at all.

The little girl prayed, for she knew all along what was going on. She only masked her fear with a smile. “God, oh please protect my sister”

…And as tears flowed from my eyes, I watch helpless, and unable to save the ones I loved.

Introduction
This is an RPG game made my me using the program RPG Maker.

History
First I tried making a fan-fiction based on Ragnarok Online, sadly I failed because the way I speak and lack of knowledge about vocabulary. So trying to find a new game to play (I was searching for Maple Story) I stumbled on this rpg making program...that was June last year.

Story
The whole story is divided into two books, Book 1: The Begining of the End and Book 2: The End of Eternity. This RPG covers book one and has a bit different scenario, if it goes well I'll make book 2 as well. The first four chapter of book one introduces the main characters and later, how then end up meeting each other (I wont summarize to whole story, if you want it PM me and I'll send it to you. It currently has 23 chapters, only 2 chapters to go)
Book two, however, isn't written still (I just have it on my memory)

Characters
Some character's name where change from the original.

Kinosuke (formerly Sanosuke) Read Chapter 1: Chronicle of Sanosuke for details
Mimi Read Chapter 2: Misadventures of teh Mimi-Chan
Kyle Read Chapter 3: Kyle's Travel
Miyako (formerly Sakura) Read Chapter 4: Sakura's Destiny

The Game
Title: Twilight of Heroes: The Begining of the End
Type: Role Playing Game
Genre: Action, Love, Comedy, Horror, Sci-fi, Drama, Suspense, Thriller, Adventure, M2M, Etc.

Minimum System Requirements

Microsoft® Windows® 98/98SE/Me/XP/2000
PC with 800MHz Intel® Pentium® III equivalent or higher processor
At least 128 MB of system RAM
1024x768 or better video resolution in High Color mode
DirectSound-compatible sound card
At least 100 MB of available hard disk space

Recommended System Requirements

Microsoft® Windows® XP
PC with 1.5GHz Intel® Pentium® 4 equivalent or higher processor
At least 256 MB of system RAM
1024x768 or better video resolution in True Color mode
DirectSound-compatible sound card
At least 500 MB of available hard disk space

Features
What make this game different from all others? Two Major things: Battle System and Skill System.
This RPG gets all the great features from different games (Final Fantasy, Lufia, Star Ocean, etc.) and put them all together, do you miss Materia from FF VII? or Triple Triad from FF VIII perhaps? Dont worry you get all of them. It lags a bit when you enter a map with many enemies, due to the number of feature this game has.

Battle System
This is the major thing about this RPG is that it has a Dual Battle System, what does that mean? It means you can battle monster in two ways. Each Battle System gives different rewards which is explained in a short while. You get engage with enemies in two ways, first they are walking within the map (like in Ragnarok Online) Second is by random encounter, there is a third one but it explained later. Boss battles works like, battle first with ABS then followed by ATB.

Active Time Battle (ATB)

This battle system is written by Para-dog, and is traslated by DerWulfman

Active Time Battle first started in Final Fantasy V, It features a bar that moves until its full, the first one to do so gets the first move and can pick from different commands: Attack, Skill, Defend, Item (more commands are coming once I finish adding them up) And each command drains the bar at a different level (using certain skills may deplete 80% of the bar while just guarding takes 20%). Player and Enemies takes turn until either side wins.

Battles are activated by random encounter or by pressing a key when an enemy is weakened from ABS (explained later)

Wining this battle nets you Exp, Gold, Item (others are explained later)

Action Battle System (ABS)

This Battle System is written by Mr. Mo

This battle system is best describe by playing Legend of Zelda, or well...its the battle system of Ragnarok Online, also known as hack and slash

When the Squad Based Action Battle System is done (its almost completed) You will savage the map with four characters, you control the one and the other three by AI (download Demo v.3 for details)

Some added feature is when you killed an enemy, instead of just dying and disappearing there is a chance that the enemy will go into the weakened state which you can choose to a. Press C button to execute finisher and get Style points (explained later) or b. Press B button to battle the same monster again in ATB battle system.

It depends on what Battle system you want to use to level up, each both gives different bonuses (explained later) ABS lets you level up faster but ATB lets you net more skills

Skill Section

The other main feature on this RPG probably the most compicated out there...as it compiles different methods (up to 17 of it, more coming) of getting your hand to the proposed 1000+ skills available ok im not joking.

Off-Battle Skill Learning
1. Level - the most oldest form of getting skills e.g. at level 10 you will learn Bash
2. Stat - learn skills based on your stat e.g. learn Heal if you have 20+ INT
3. Item - using certain items a number of times e.g. use potion 100 times, you will get Potion Pitcher
4. Geomancy - Based on where you fight the enemy nets you skills e.g. you encounter it while on
water, Waterball then will be learned steping out of water otherwise unlearns it
5. Quest - Certain quest gives you skills

*Numbers 2 to 4 are written by Trickters

On-Battle Skill Learning
ABS - You only learns a skill via ABS

Style Points - as describe earlier, by pressing C during a weakened enemy will execute the finisher which depends on the weapon you have (an axe would cut the enemy in half) You will get Style points which in turn are use to buy skills at the skill shop

*This feature is not implemented yet
*Destruction Engine was written by Rataime while the skill shop by Trickster

ATB - You only learns a skill via ATB

1. Materia - From FF VII where your equipment have a slot where you can put your materia, you gain skills as long as you equip it, each materia levels up and gains more skill. Combining Materia yeilds diffent effect e.g. Fire + All makes Fire skill hits all enemy.

2. Espers - From FF V, same concept as Materia but you can only have one at a time skill you get from Espers are mostly summon one e.g. having Bahamut equiped lets you use Bahamut skill. Espers levels up also.

3. IP skills - Ikari Point from Lufia II where depending on the action (getting hit, attacking, guarding) Fills your IP bar and you use it to execute skills embeded within your equipment, by class, or by character e.g. You have 80% IP, you can execute Glacial Saber which cost 20% IP via Ice spear (your weapon)
*This feature is not implemented yet, cant decide which one to use, Soul Rage or IP
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b170/Teh...es/SoulRage.jpg
4. Soul Rage - Works Like IP but can have more than one skill per equipment and have Soul Limit which function as a Limit Break
*Not implemented yet, if I did, I'll remove IP and Limit break since then conflict
5. Unleashes - From Golden Sun, where when you just attack there is a chance to auto-cast a skill e.g. works like fireblend/ice falcion and the like
*Not implemented yet
6. Limit Break - From FF VII when your Limit break bar is full, you can execute you Limit Break Skill
*Not Implemented yet
7. Combo Skills - By combining skills, a more powerful skill will be executed e.g. Kinosuke uses Cross Slash, Mimi uses Charge Arrow, Miyako uses Fire, Burning Cross Arrow will be executed (ignoring Cross Slash, Charge Arrow, and Fire)
*Not Implemented yet
8. Blue Magic - From FF V, when you get hit my certain skill you will learn it kinda like plagiarism of rogue e.g. Lunatic uses Wind on you, you will learn Wind
*Not Implemented yet
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b170/Teh...Heroes/Mana.jpg
9. Mana Cost - not exactly learning but you can only use skill as long as you have the mana e.g. fire needs at least 10 fire mana, if you dont have one you cant use it
*Buggy at the moment
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b170/Teh...pmentskills.jpg
10. Equipment Skill - From FF IX where when you equip a weapon/armor you will gain a skill and unless you master it using AP you gain after battle the skill will disappear when you unequip the weapon/armor. Mastering the skill makes it permanent.
*Buggy at the moment
11. Stealing - You can steal skills from enemies for three turns or permanent, monster however can steal from you aswell

*Feature 1 is wriiten by SephirotSpawn, 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10, and 11 by Trickster

Gaining Stat
Divided into two parts, on and off battle stat increase.
Str - Raises your attack, damage = Str + Weapon attack
Dex - Raises hit rate and criticals
Agi - Raises dodge (you can dodge magic), determines how fast your ATB bar fills up
Int - Magic Damage

Off-Battle Stat Increase
1. Equipment - certain equipment raises your stats e.g. Majestic Goat = +2 Str
2. Materia - it provides stat boast (and skill) the higher the level the better the stats, stat gain are based on percentage e.g. Fire: -2% Hp, +1% Sp, +3% Int
*Buggy at the moment
3. Espers - same as materia but you get stat by number e.g. Bahamut: Str +20 Agi -10 Dex +30
4. Passive Skills - this skills gain either by ATB or ABS raises your stats e.g. Owl's Eye
*Not implemented yet
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b170/Teh...Destruction.jpg
5. Different Environment - cutting woods lets you gain Str, or gain Dex by Fishing, etc.

*1,2 are written by SephirotSpawn, 4 by Trickster

On-Battle Stat Increase
ABS
Level Token System - You can get one randomly while killing enemies in ABS, it is used like a stat point in Ragnarok Online, one token = one stat

ATB
1. Leveling Up - old fashioned way of getting stat increase (also works on ABS)
2. Action - if you attack certain times you get Str, or using skills nets you Int

World
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b170/Teh...eroes/World.jpg
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b170/Teh...es/worldmap.jpg
Story took place in the continent of Midgard along with its three countries mainly Rune-Midgard, Swarchwald (how the hell you spell that), and Arunafeltz, in book one however you are limited to Midgard

Fields
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b170/Teh...s/FieldMaps.jpg
Here is a sample of the field, I made the whole Payon forest up to the point (my maps copies the Ragnarok Online maps as closely as possible)
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b170/Teh...s/Mapeditor.jpg
Map Teleporter
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b170/Teh.../Teleporter.jpg
Exploring the map takes a while, and what if you want to go from Payon to Alberta? This Teleporter lets you teleport to any field as long as you complited its mission e.g. to make pay_fild03 appear on the teleporter you must complete the mission there (kill 50 poring)
*written by SephirotSpawn

Message System
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b170/Teh...es/Dialogue.jpg
This RPG uses Advance Message Display R4 by Dubealex

Menu
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b170/Teh...Heroes/Menu.jpg
The menu is written by LeGaCy though its a bit buggy at this point
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b170/Teh...Heroes/Bank.jpg
Why need a kafra when you have a bank?

Mini-games/Sidequest
You will be spending most of your time within this addictive mini-games, some are required to be finish before you can continue the story, ill add the rest of the mini-games

http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b170/Teh...TripleTriad.jpg
1. Triple Triad - From FF VIII, addictive card game and tons of card to collect, you have to keep track of player around the world if you want to complete all the cards, and oh...the AI is a complete killer
*Written by Trickster
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b170/Teh...rOceanArena.jpg
2. Star Ocean Battle Arena - lets you compete with your party or alone to fight monsters, if you win you can continue to fight stronger monsters for more gold
*Written by Trickster
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b170/Teh...s/FFTactics.jpg
3. Final Fantasy Tactics - Same as from the FFT, you take mission and complete it for rewards, sometimes you need to finish certain mission for the story to move one.
*Written by Trickster
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b170/Teh...ShiftPuzzle.jpg 4. Shift Puzzle - you will try to complete the picture by moving/rotating the panels
*Written by SephirotSpawn
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b170/Teh...odukuPuzzle.jpg 5. Sudoku Puzzle - something about magic squares, chinese invented this
*Written by SephirotSpawn
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b170/Teh...Heroes/Pong.jpg
6. Pong - This game owns all, ask your parents if you dont believe me
*Written by Tiberius III
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b170/Teh...s/Herbalism.jpg
7. Herbalism - When you saw a flower in the map tak to it and have a chance to pick it up
*Written by Tiberius III
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b170/Teh...oes/Picture.jpg
8. Picture - Kinda like Pokemon Snap, where some npc ask you to take pictures and bring it to them, F5 to shoot camera, F6 to view photos
*buggy at the moment, written by BigSexyMan
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b170/Teh...0Heroes/Art.jpg
9. Art - Lets you store the pictures you seen from cutscenes to be viewed later
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b170/Teh.../PaneldePon.jpg

On-Battle Stat Increase
ABS
Level Token System - You can get one randomly while killing enemies in ABS, it is used like a stat point in Ragnarok Online, one token = one stat

ATB
1. Leveling Up - old fashioned way of getting stat increase (also works on ABS)
2. Action - if you attack certain times you get Str, or using skills nets you Int
