can i make an event (like a box) that you can pick up zelda style?

technically...yes...

but in my view, you'd need a heck of a lot more sprites and switches, common events etc.

A) You'd need a sprite with it's arms up that can move (a whole new sprite set more or less) with the object in question on top, thus possibly a lot more sprites and common events.

Then you'd need them to throw etc, or put down...it's really a pain in the ass.
Harmony before Justice,
Balance before Peace,
Order before Finality

Well, (I on't rememer which one =C) i played a game where you could do it, but there was no new spriteset needed. The objet just jumped on top of the player, still being a separate object. And maybe not throwing, Just being able to pick things up and put them down would be fine, thanks, if anyone knows.

Fortis

Well, you could use the move when you use action key on the object, and then make the box jump? Also pop it down one and it should go down below his head, if his back is turned it will look like picking it up. If it's front way it will look wasted... :D
