North American Union

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Apparently Bush has been meeting with officials from Mexico and Canada to try to merge the 3 countries into one, calling it the "North American Union". This would effectively destroy all borders in North America. Personally, I think it is just another step in the downfall of civilization. Not that I have anything wrong with either Canada nor Mexico, I just fear what would come after this... I'm interested to see what people from across the pond think, since the foreign press usually gives its citizens a better idea about whats going on here than our own does.
