Tried 'em lol
Had a search around and downloaded the newest ones which also didn't work :(

I'd try finding out what brand/model your motherboard is and getting the drivers from them instead of from packard, which don't make them.
-
Already did :I
I've had this problem before and it turned out that it was something taken from the XP torrent i downloaded :/ so im gonna make a new install with a different torrent :)
-
lol didnt work D:

Does it do the same for VX and do other programs have sound?
and check your Direct X and make sure its 9.0
-
XP as in windows XP the OS :)
-
Last time my parent's computer had this problem, it turned out to be a faulty sound card. ._.
-
O my bad. Thats very odd cause XP usually picks up the drivers and you have sound no matter what.
Could be that too. It does sound like it would be that.
-
Integrated sound card with the motherboard

It still could fail. Try finding a sound card you can stick in the PCI slot and see if it works. If you have one.
