So, we need to get started on the story. Let's throw ideas around.

Alright, so we already know that they will be fugitives for the first part of the games. So: why do they get caught? I was thinking maybe the government hold Dane's mother hostage and he goes to rescue her. Tyrius at first says no (because it's a really stupid thing to do), and so we play as just Dane for a little while, but once he gets in there maybe Tyrius shows up to give him a hand, and it was a trap of course and they are both caught. There is quite a bit of cliche in there, particularly Tyrius' decision to do the noble thing and go after Dane - maybe we can give him an ulterior motive for going to find Dane. Anyway, that's sort of what I'm thinking.

If possible, I think Mirya should catch them. It'd be a decent twist, their enemy becomes their ally; or whatever. Perhaps she manages to take out Dane quickly, then she holds off Tyrius until backup arrives, or something.

Let's focus on the enemy's plan though, so we can tie them into it. Perhaps their mission includes witnessing something or getting something that involves their plot. Impressed by their fighting ability they could be given a commuted sentence or something in return for helping Mirya.

Let's plan to get the whole story finished asap. We can hold off full development until the second chapter, but we should definatly put hints and foreshadowing in the first.
