I love all your artwork! :3

And I most certainly can see the mass amount of improvement your work is now that I have seen here and there. ^^
Also, I don't exactly know this, but the acrylic seems very forced for you.
Almost like you enjoy other styles of drawing better.

I could be wrong, though.
But it all looks great regardless!

I know the topic is older, but now you know you can always post what YOU like to draw.
And I'm supporting that for you. :3

Here's some new drawings I've done these past few days:

-Color Pencils-
Spoiler for Kashiwazaki Sena from Haganai:
The entire thing is done in Color Pencil, usually I use pastels for the background, decided to do this one entirely on color pencils instead. Went a bit realistic here.
Spoiler for OC Mage inspired from .Hack:
Not much to say, just practicing, mostly on cloth's color, light, shadow & how it would behave and have movement on it. I was suggested to make a clear sky for this one, I'll work in it later thou.

Spoiler for Hakurei Reimu from Touhou, WARNING: A Bit risky here:
I tried to sketch it like the Sena/Blonde girl picture, but I didn't like the eyes, so, instead, went on for an Anime style here instead. I hate doing those bows & ribbons & ties, I get a lot of work in drawing them. I know this one is a tad risky, but nothing harmful. I just wanted to be a bit bolder here. >_>

-Sketches (work in progress)-

Spoiler for Squiggly from Skullgirls:
This one is mostly a sketch for a painting commission; but that's another story.

Spoiler for Tatsuta from Kantai Collection:
Need to fix her left arm at the end, It ain't suppose to look like that. Her face at first looked too manly, @__@ had trouble with that. Other than that, she'll take me time, as I have to paint her clothing's little by little since their black. Gonna try what I did with Tenryuu, and see if I can make a neat background.

I'll post more, and I feel like I'm making progress here, and preparing for Tomorrow's competition.

Glad you like it IAMFORTE. One of the Judges of the Drawing Contest did like it a lot.
Finished coloring Bismarck
Spoiler for Colored Bismarck from KanColl:

I used Color Pencils & Sharpies / Color Markers for this piece. This one was more of an Experiment, using Sharpies as the Shadows and using Color Pencils as details & light instead. Used the German Flag (I think it's the German Flag) as the background, which was done with Color Markers, used a lot of Red, and I was been careful coloring. Thou there are some spots and borders I accidentally painted. Nevertheless, loved the result here, and hope you guys too enjoy it.

Just a bit of friendly advice: You might want to consider tracing over your lineart on a separate paper. The pencil smudges muddy the marker colors.

Any advice & criticism is welcome if it helps me learn & grow; You suggest I use Tracing paper to do this & then trace it back to the drawing? I'm a bit lost on it.
Title: Re: Now Karo Rushe's Dump Art Gallery
Post by: Acolyte on August 01, 2014, 12:26:24 AM
Basically make the lineart as clean as possible, then lay another paper over it and trace it, either in pen or marker. Then you can use the clean lineart as a base to color on, eliminating the pencil marks.

If I can ask, can a bad eraser contribute to giving off the smudge effects that I'm getting? Just something that came to my mind regarding the trace, and erasing.
Title: Re: Now Karo Rushe's Dump Art Gallery
Post by: yuyu! on August 01, 2014, 02:22:31 AM
I like that new one, Karo! You're getting better everyday! ^_^

If I can ask, can a bad eraser contribute to giving off the smudge effects that I'm getting? Just something that came to my mind regarding the trace, and erasing.

I've had both pencil marks and bad erasers cause some pretty nasty smudges. ;_; Sometimes I've gotten away with tracing the sharpie over it on the same page and erasing the pencil marks. But that requires a sharpie that won't smudge easily. Most of them do. ;_;

If you have the resources and time to learn, I bet you'd make a pretty awesome digital artist, too! It took me and my sister a bit to learn and get used to the awkwardness, but it's an overall fun experience. Bamboo/Intuos tablets are pretty affordable if you get the starter ones, and you can do all your drawing on GIMP or photoshop and not have to worry about having all the right materials! ;o

Agree 100% with yuyu on the digital art thing. It's hard to get used to at first. You might feel discouraged that none of your art looks quite right for a while (I know I was  ;9), but if you can work past that, it's a great tool.

Also, yeah, you definitely want to get a good eraser. Sketching lighter helps as well.

Gummy erasers are like pencil sponges, and you can tear them apart / stick them back together like putty, mashing it together to make the lead it erases just...gone. It mixes into the eraser itself, giving it an incredibly long lifespan. You also don't have to deal with shavings this way, and instead of rubbing out bad lines / leftovers, you can just stamp them out, as the eraser pulls up a little bit of lead with each press. Think of the old silly putty and newspaper comic trick. You can get a gummy eraser cheaply enough at an art supply store or even a college campus store, and you only really need one. Two to save yourself a trip later on, maybe. I used this tool extensively.

If you want a regular pencil eraser that doesn't suck: Staples makes good pencils (bright red rounded erasers) that fall apart easily under friction. Papermate, conversely, has flat topped pink erasers that act like they're coated with glue, and smear ANYTHING. Using them on scantron tests was a nightmare.

Noted on the Eraser, I'll say this to since I haven't and might be a factor, Materials I use:

Erasers: A.W. Faber-Castell Eraser (Pink color)
Pencils: Mechanical Pencil Point 0.7 mm
Color Pencils: (15-year-Old) Prismacolors
Markers: "Sharpie" Fine Point (Permanent Marker)
Pens: Faber Castels (says it's Waterproof) Point 0.2 , and some Pens which they're names are unreadable (Technolinear?) Points from 0.2 to 0.5
Gummy erasers are like pencil sponges, and you can tear them apart / stick them back together like putty, mashing it together to make the lead it erases just...gone. What I've been using as erasers are "A.W. Faber-Castell erasers" Color pink, and I think their Papermate as Arrow said are the bad ones.

When you say Gummy Erasers, you mean those that are like Bubble Gum? You can stretch them to clean them up and also use the graphite/lead to produce shadows? There's three of those around (In one piece I hope).

I like that new one, Karo! You're getting better everyday! ^_^
Thank you :>

The technical term for what arrow is talking about is a "kneaded eraser", and you can find them at pretty much any store that carries even the most basic drawing supplies. Pink erasers are pretty much the worst possible eraser out there.

So, I went, and played too long with the Tablet enugh to freeze the computer.

And, I'll look for a Kneaded Eraser and get rid of the pink Erasers; They turn this last sketch into a mess:

Today, I spent on searching for tutorials on Paint Tool Sai to apply what I learn today, and, well, I decided to Scan a sketch and color it digitally, something I did with the 'PS3 Game' one.
Following the instructions, I received a grim remainder:

I'm not the best at cleaning up sketches or lineart and the bad erasers sure left their mark, I had been working all day to clean it up, becoming tedious, and simply making matters worse and more complicated, and I had wasted my time I could've used in making sticks & other stuff on Sai instead as practice. So, giving up on trying to fix the sketch to get a lineart, my thoughts went to tracing the lines like a vector, but, I know it wouldn't fix the main problem, those Pink Erasers are the cause as you guys have said. I decided to fix this once and for all, Find those Kneaded Erasers, whatever was left of them, in my room. Box after box, searching.

Finally found two of them in a small pouch with some old Marker/Pens of mines, and preparing to clean the sketch this time.
The Pens I found belong also to the ones I've been using;

-Pens/Markers-
1) TechLiner (Unnamed Pens)

-Erasers-
1) 1 Unopened White Eraser (It kinda turned Yellow thou)

2) 2 'Design' Kneaded Rubber 1223 (Kneaded Erasers)

"New Toy"
1) 1 "Wacom Bamboo Tablet Model MTE-450A" (It was lying around taking dust between watercolor sketchbooks)

Regarding the Tablet, I couldn't find the installation disc, frustrated after search was unsuccessful, I just went and looked for the Installation Driver Online. And, well, Yesterday's drawing that froze the computer was the result of the fun I had.

Awaiting now suggestions, criticism, more tutorials, tips and advice from you guys, I'm truly eager to learn on this medium.

Very cool! O.O I think I saw you post that one earlier, too, I don't know why I didn't think about that. D:

You seem to do an awesome job with digital coloring, too! :-) It would be cool to see more of your digital stuff!
When I colored it, I had no idea what I was doing.

Been contemplating on using the Kneaded eraser, but I'm afraid of opening it, since I dunno where would I put it later so it could last longer & doesn't get all dusty & dirty and full of stuff from the room.
So, umm, yeah, working on this at a slow pace:

Regarding this sketch, is just a sketch, not the final product, thou I dunno if I'll finish it so I had decided to post it here for you guys to see, I used different colors, for each layer, each color is actually a separate layer, each layer beneath I turn them more and more transparent as I add more layers, tracing in a new layer either on it or adding more details.

Oooh, very cool! :-) I think the nose may need to be just a little bit longer or the mouth higher. Perhaps it's just the angle of the character. :]

Lookin' good! ^_^
After looking at it, I think it's both, the Nose needs to be a bit longer & the Mouth higher, It's not really the angle I think. Thank you for pointing that out. o/

I like it. The color variation is a nice touch on top.  :tv:
Thank you, thou the colors are just separate layers. Using different colors so I don't get confused while working & tracing it over, either adding or fixing.

Ok, so, I haven't really worked much since the last ones, and I have a bad habit of simply wanting to draw but won't draw at all. So, last night decided to draw on a few old school notebooks I planned to use just to practice sketching stuff (Taking Acolyte's suggestion to sketch in a separate paper/notebook), here's yesterday's result: (Sorry for it been dirty & messy)

I was planning on drawing digital, but those plans changed after what happened with the Hardrive, so I continued doing it the traditional way. In doing so I've decided to branch away from the style I was trying to do and said "Screw it, I'm drawing Anime/Manga Style" and followed with passion, here's the progression of these weeks I've been missing:

[Warning-big post coming throu]

Spoiler for I-19/Iku from KanColle:
Here I decided to try using more colors, lines & shape for the background, had trouble aligning the eyes, and following the advice of Arrow & Acolyte, I changed the Pink Erasers, and started to use a White Eraser I have. It's made erasing the graphite much easier & cleaning it up better, however, I had trouble with the Pens which, I didn't notice ti'll recently.
I also started to use what I learned in Color Theory back in University, and played with the colors in making a gradient-two tone hair color, It didn't come exactly as I wanted, but nonetheless, I'd try it once again in the next one.
Spoiler for I-8/Hacchan from KanColle:
Tried to be more colorful & employ some tricks around. making larger breast isn't my forte, but I wanted to get better, the head came out too big, and the eyes were still small, and I somehow managed to screw up her glasses, I didn't notice them until I had already made the lineart & colored them. Played around with her hair color, I loved the result on this one better, and establishing a palette for Blond Hair colors . Sadly, I did the mistake I was told not to do with the Color Pencils & the Ink, and well, you can see it. Decided to changes Pens for the next ones after this, added too many elements in the Background, Sis said it reminded her of Alice in Wonderland for some reason. I notice her hand looks . . . weird, I tried fixing it but I just kept getting it worse, and any more erasing would damage the paper. This one was finished by the time I had left the Computer to my Sister's friend to re-install the hardrive.

Spoiler for Iona from Arpeggio of Blue Steel/Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio:
The following days felt really dark for me. with no Computer, I didn't know where to look for my references & other stuff regarding art. I decided to use my Brother's Mac computer to connect my Old Laptop's hardrive into it, I had saved most of the references, and stuff of the computer into 2 Laptop Hardrives I had around and use to make small back-ups of the computer's stuff. However, I had little reference on the character itself, had trouble navigating throu Mac's Safari for an image and . . . ugh, horrible. Went with this picture as a reference (http://images.goodsmile.info/cgm/images/product/20140428/4406/28831/large/7b659d8769a267d0b9bd08667c46c416.jpg) The Pen I used was a "Faber Castell Multimark 1513 permanent black pen size 'F'" (http://cdn.idealo.com/folder/Product/815/0/815021/s4_produktbild_gross/faber-castell-multimark-1513-permanent-noir.png) for the lineart, I had trouble with it, but it was the only pen I could trust at that moment. I believe I made progress with the eyes in this one, I tried to simplify the background this time by using Aqua & Blue colored pens & sharpie markers.

By the Time I finish this one, I had decided to 'expose' my work on the internet (besides rmrk). But didn't start until the next drawing.

Spoiler for Takao from Arpeggio of Blue Steel/Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio:
My sister & her friend like this character a lot, I had trouble once again looking for references on her dress and wasn't sure on the pose. Went with something a tad bold for me. Decided to use light shades of blue as Shadows for her white dress instead of grey or purples. used Sharpies to color the background, and wanted to make a more 'bubble'-like effect. I enjoyed how she came out, and I felt proud how her eyes came out.
By this time I started to sketch more but after I got my computer back, I started to post them on Deviantart & pixiv, one drawing every two days. However, when I got to Iona, I didn't post Takao's, instead I went with this next one right away on 11/15/2014

I wanted to Draw Prinz Eugen ;A; Alongside Nagato & Sakawa.
Nagato, Prinz Eugen & Sakawa from KanColle done in Color Pencil & markers.
Mostly inspired by a line she says ._.

I did this one in one day . . . and posted it by night, I was tired, but proud of what I had started to achieve. The day I worked on this one, KanColle had released a new patch which included three new characters, Prinz Eugen, amongs the new ones was the motivation, and investigating real quickly, I learned the Ship she's based on, was on Operation-Crossroads, a Nuclear test in the pacific and one of the survivors of it with the other two characters been present too in the event, but didn't survive like her.

I was motivated by this information, and this is the first time that I draw three characters in the same drawing & to finish said drawing in the same day. I also gotten new skin tones, and progress on some parts, but, sadly, I think the lineart of the Pen had done damage to the drawing, the Sharpie Markers Bled throu the paper onto the next page (I was always aware they bled throu, but never like it did in this one).

Best 'Kriegsmarine' after Bismark ;A;
Prinz Eugen from Kantai Collection, done in Acrylic & colorpencils.

So, I had been motivated since the last one, I decided to raise the stakes higher, Mixed Media, Color Pencils and Acrylic Paint, I was afraid on this one, but faced it right ahead. This was the result. I didn't enjoy the Paper Canvas's texture, it made it difficult for me to color with the Pencils.
And most recently:

First time using Micron/Sakura pens, trying new hair color & some digital filtering.

Dunno how the mature content stuff works here in Deviantart, so I just added the mature content tag. .__. People can be sensitive to even some pantsu shot ~
By now, I was frustrated with the Pen. So convinced my father to take me to the closes Art store to buy what my friends refer to as the 'Elusive Sakura Pens - Micron Pens', lottsa traffic, and the terrible heat of the afternoon, the car doesn't have air conditioner, when we got there, they told me they only sold them separatedly, and tried to convince me to buy another different mark of Pens, I was not in the mood to experiment and risk of having bad pens as I had since University, I went to the counter and picked them up, They only had size 005, 01, 05 & 08, took a pair of 005, 01 & 05 . . . went home & made the Lineart. Decided to change the palette of the Blond Hair, and added Orange, I got too much into the background, and this was the result. One of the Pens started to act like it's ink was dried, good thing I bought them on pairs, I applied too much white & gave a smudge effect on the lineart (Grrr). Nevertheless, I love the result & the colors, and I feel I have made more progress with this one, even thou I learned later that I screwed up the proportions, specially her bottom. .__.

Currently have two more sketches, but I wanted to post these here.

Thank you, thou I still have a long way to go. ^^;;

How long do you draw for now?
This question is actually tricky.

I had been drawing for a long while, never took it seriously, mostly for making time pass in classes.
Started on doing pixel arts (specifically spriting in XP) around highschool when I got interested in rpg maker, a certain person in this forums told me to stop requesting and to be productive.
After I graduated from Highschool, studied 'Graphic Art & Paintings' as a Major in University.
After graduating, I simply painted but I started to get serious about it around August of this year after participating in a drawing contest at a local ComiCon.

I wish you a merry christmas too. :) (\s/)
Thank you, thou it's still not Christmas where I am.

I'm curious, on what you mean with the pencil, specifically what throws you off?

I'm not confident using color pencil for the outlines, I kinda have a bad habit of doings things messy. But I'll give it a try.

I think on the hands, it's mostly the fingers, I keep messing up the fingers. I'm aware I'm bad at them, but I'll always keep making them,I know someday I'll get them right . . . eventually . . . some day. .__.

Well, I, umm, I just don't wanna sound rude or anything, I guess it's could be  since it's a strange & foreign concept to you, It is strange indeed I guess from your perspective, and at first, well, I'll admit it was strange for me too at the time. Umm, I could tell the girl is not from an Anime, more like from a Indie Game. .__. Other people I know would've lost their marbles from reading that and act like pricks. And that's no fun.

The pencil isn't really all that big of a deal and doesn't take away from the picture. ;o My only two qualms about drawing with pencils is that the outlines might tend to smudge sometimes, and the grayish pencil color (instead of a darker colored outline or a black outline). From what it looks like, you've minimized the smudges and that's gnar-gnar!

Well, I, umm, I just don't wanna sound rude or anything, I guess it's could be  since it's a strange & foreign concept to you, It is strange indeed I guess from your perspective, and at first, well, I'll admit it was strange for me too at the time. Huh? Oh, it's really no big deal! It didn't bother me, I was just saying that anime (the art style) is strange indeed.  :P I appreciate the art style, but anime has always been very weird...in a creative way! "Weird" isn't a bad thing in my mind. ;o

*Ahem*, So, umm, yeah, I had been in the mood lately. I ordered 26 new color pencils I needed, I couldn't find them in the local art store nor in the farthest one from town in the South, Had to order them online instead, which costed me some $43.29 plus $10 bucks to get new white erasers since the one I had did it's job. (I spend it well lately). They work great and I'm satisfied with it.

To clear it up, the colorpencils I use are Prismacolors. And their quite old, (Around when I was finishing Elementary school), and I had been collecting colors since then, and now lately I've putten them to use in all drawings from past to present. They're expensive, and I have been told I can get cheaper ones, but, I simply like to work with these.

^ that. I've probably mentioned this before, but I think it'll really help to use darker colors for the outlines instead. :] You can create that effect with colored pencils easily if the outlines are slightly darker than the shading.

Thank you, Yuyubabe.

I know it was kinda pointless since the drawing's lineart is done in ink, but, I tried your & Acolyte's suggestion, added more tones to the skin color palette, picked up the darkest color. There are three I chose;
 PC901 Indigo Blue
 PC908 Dark Green
 PC1078 Black Cherry

Black Cherry was the one I used mostly to darken the skin/shadows.

Now used it combined with either PC 945 Sienna Brown or PC937 Tuscan Red for the Darkest Color & use for the Outlines/Lineart as you suggested it.
Also, umm, I had to take my old textbooks & Book references regarding 'Human Figure' and 'Color Theory' I used in university when I studied art. I was insecured yesterday, since I applied my knowledge of Acrylic Painting into Color pencil.

Needless to say, I'm satisfied with the results (Thou the paper of this Sketchbook is horribly bad);

Spoiler for OC Mage colored:

Went over the ink with the darkest flesh color tone (In this case Black Cherry). I was going to color her hair grey, but decided to use Blue & Purple. (With new colors). I was, really proud when I finish it. Noticed her staff's circles look really bad, so, I painted over them with grey. Instead of using the White color pencil only, I combined with a newly acquired colourless blender pencil on some parts (Mostly her gloves & staff). Like the result so far. Still need work on making hands, those fingers, I notice look odd.

I got two others inked that I'll be working on soon.

That looks great! :gracie: It definitely looks more natural and the colors work well together in a very complementary way. I'm super duper picky about color coordination, and I love the ones you used here. The outfit colors work together as a nice blend of vibrant (but not too overpowering) and neutral colors, and the hair is pretty and looks great with the outfit. The shading also looks really cool and seems to work very well with the outlines you chose. :)

Again, I really like the style you used for the eyes. I think the difference in this picture is that the outlines of the eyes are less thick and more refined - and it looks great and very natural! :yuyu:

I can see that too, with the exception of this one (http://rmrk.net/index.php?topic=23934.msg571371#msg571371) and this one (http://rmrk.net/index.php?topic=23934.msg571317#msg571317). Honestly, those are my two favorites! :roph2:

I think a good way to get some variety is to switch up certain features. I.e. Eyes can range by size, pupil design, or even the general shape. I drew up a quick and sloppy paint drawings of some examples. Pardon the awfulness, I was using my computer's mouse to draw these. :-[

I didn't even include facial shapes, but those can pretty much range from slim/round and defined/simple with the details in the other features (i.e. high/low cheekbones, flat/pointed chin, wide/slim jam, etc).

Ran out of blender so, did what I could. Tried doing some flames in color pencil following some tutorial in youtube, thou, I lost it halfway, And everytime I did the Pale girl (Wo-class) I kept forgetting the colors I used to make her greys. I tried yuyu's suggestion on the expressions, giving different sets of eyes & noses on them, and the face's shape. (Fubuki having shorter & rounder face, Wo's been less round and more ermm, longer?)

I don't understand well the question, I do the lineart and finish cleaning the graphite, then I go straight to coloring. Hmm, a classmate of mines suggested me to go from the darkest color to the lightest when I was painting with him a year ago, I used his suggestions for color pencils, going from the shadow and darkest colors to the lightest colors.

The color pencils I use, are Prismacolors. And for lineart some Pigma Micron Pens 03-005, to later pass another layer of Color pencil on top of the ink with a Black Color Pencil usually.

----

Here's another one I did last night, took me five hours to do, (mostly due to tiredness) couldn't think of a background color for this one:

Learned Peroxide can be used to clean ink, also, if you rub too hard, the paper will weaken and tear. <sigh>

I think it's the words Blenders that I used? Colorless Pencil Colors used to blend.

I seem to be in a really good mood to draw and color, I've been drawing & then inmediatelly coloring it at the very moment these days, here's the newest one: It took me three hours. At first I was terrified I had gotten the wrong hair color, but now, I realize I got that Blue-Grey color I always wanted. The violet and colors have become my darkening colors lately.

Ohh, right on! I don't know why I didn't think of that, I use a colorless pencil blender too. o.o I'm also in the mood for drawing and coloring a lot lately, but for some reason I never want to use colored pencils anymore. I always spend way too much time with them and have to go back over and blend everything, and then my hand hurts. I think my art class is exhausting my patience with them. ;9 Instead, I've been painting everything (probably because it feels quicker, but it's also way more messy and you have to be extra careful).

Painting? As in Acrylic Paint and/or Water Color? The description of what you do to painting, what do you mean by messy? I find painting to be more tedious, and a simple mess can ruin the whole painting (At least in Acrylic). I haven't touched my brushes for a long while, I guess from not having a mood for it, thou I have fun playing around doing different textures and effects with the paint and anything I can think of, whether it's throwing Alcohol, slapping with a towel or even using my hands as brushes and blenders for it.

I've been working with tube watercolor paints mostly, but I sometimes use acrylics. I intend to pick up some oil paints eventually, too! :-)

Tube watercolors are my favorite to use. They blend much better than acrylics, and also don't go to waste because you can revive them with a little water if they go dry. They are especially good for making those neat effects, too! :gracie: What I meant by messy was mostly the long clean up process and, as you said, the fact that it's so easy to ruin an entire painting. ;9 There are ways to get around that, such as the use of masking tape or masking fluid (which I just picked up today!). With watercolors, it's especially easy to mess up because the colors overlap each other. ;9 You can use water and dabbing to try to lighten them, but it's really hard to completely remove an unwanted watercolor mark. ;___; Acrylics are easier to cover up (since the paints are very thick) and they are great for making the right colors, but terrible for blending.

Aside from painting, I also really like working with pastels, but I can't actually touch any of my pastel pictures because it will all rub off. I have a pastel work that I really want to frame, but I have no idea how to get it covered in something that will prevent them from spreading. o.o

Art is awesome! ;___; It's always neat to see how other people use different mediums! :)

Blending acrylics is trial and error, and keeping notes of the colors one used helps, and in all mediums, lots of experimentation. I've never used watercolors, thou, I know that applying salt to the paint when it's wet and left to dry and removing the salt leaves  some neat 'ice-like' effects.

For Pastels, well, here's a neat trick I was taught so it won't rub off: Spray them with Hair Spray, let it dry, and Voila! No rubbing off!!! It works like a charm.

Regarding Oil Paints; they take a long time to dry, and if your going to use them for mix media, always use the Oil painting for last, as anything applied on it won't work and leave a mess.

Spoiler for rant, bad day:
Yesterday, on the morning, I was excited and motivated. I was nervous as I had been every other time for the competition, but  sadly, it wasn't like that at all.

First of, my father decided to come with me to the Convention instead of leaving me there alone. We were short on cash (US $40 each) tickets cost, $7.00 each ($14.00), which I payed.

That's the thing, We wasted that money, because after three hours of looking and asking, they tell us the competition wasn't saturday, but for sunday Why is it frustrating? their posters, didn't say date for when, nobody in the staff knew anything, dad went as far to ask at security and we got told by the managers about it been tomorrow and not today, 3 hours after swimming throu crowd, and me well, I don't do well in large crowds without having some panic attack. knowing that also sorta fell like i lost motivation, and dad didn't like the whole convention at all, as he simply sees it to just been a place to waste money.

The part that makes me rant is, that i'll be wasting 7.00+11% ivu on another ticket for the competition tomorrow. I'm upset for it. I'm not even sure if I want to compete or not, as i keep thinking how I-well, i don't even know if i'm skilled or not and if it's worth even participating simply to lose to others. i'm down, sorry for the rant.

Had this working around; will finish later after tomorrow

Spoiler for today was special:
I-sorta want to be buried in the ground, after that 'episode' yesterday, today, well, I went back. thou running 'late'  dad assume I wasn't going. So we went . . .

I was on my own thou today . . . I arrive just in time exactly when they started the drawing competition.
I couldn't finish coloring the drawing, having someone beside me moving the table while I was inking/lineart kinda screwed the chin into a manly chin and the eyes coming out of place. nevertheless, Two hours later, we were called to be on the front stage everyone who participated. People had been drawing Marvel and stuff like that around me, and even a kid around 6-7 Was drawing mystique from x-men days of future past, with some coloring that scared me of his talent. Now I'm putten on stage in front of a huge crowd. And so happens I was first in line. I was with an old classmate of mines from university.

Thou, the climax was not expected, I felt embarrass to be in front of people, my classmate was called and won first place, having done a mixed media of watercolors and color pencils, and suddenly ca,e the one who came second place, The announcer had trouble pronouncing the name, but my classmate knew by then before I even notice, in surprise and shock, I hear my name been called . . . I had won second place. I was called to move in front with a trophy on hand and the drawing, and hear applause. I felt happy enough to faint from such surprise. old classmates soon started to pop-up, having recognize me by then when I was called. Mom was happy about it on the phone, the day had turned into a positive one. After two hours I left, as my parents had come to pick me up.

Simply yesterday was a bad day for me, and I was negative all day up to morning, and from this happening, the day turned positive, life is really strange in what some event can really turn one's day
The drawing for the competition, just as it is the moment I had to give it to them:

I actually planned to do sunflowers on the background, but for the heck of me, I can't seem to make any unless it's acrylic paint (But then, working in one go and not sleeping contributes to it). Instead I colored the background in warm tones instead.

Well, stuff been happening, got motivated in game making, RPG Maker MV feed that motivation, Boe motivated me more with his Pixel art, Madoka Talking, and other stuff, Yuyu with her posting Doria (?) expressions on IRC, it's gone out of proportion for me to hold on, and facebook post of a guy making a game in RPG Maker VX.
I just could take it anymore!!!!!!

I dunno if I had posted these before.
I went to see my old drawings of the OC Magician I planned to use to make a Game should I ever get my lazy butt back to Game Making or for anything else.
I do remember doing a sorta Portrait Image of her in a sorta Realistic Style. Anyways,

We haven't touched our sketch book or sai since August for reasons. Between Yesterday and today, worked on these two:

Sketch in traditional medium
Spoiler for:

Feels like a long time, thou I feel rusty. Should probably just use these books for sketches and such. I'm starting to notice the importance of Quality in paper . . . And the one I'm using sucks at it.
Sketch in Digital

I . . . have no idea regarding lineart and stuff on digital medium. Tutorials I find tell me to play around with the settings with different results . . . to which I'm still new to notice.
I quite enjoy Digital art in which I can keep playing around the layers with sketches, thou still troubling getting use to it.

So,  progress on . .. how rusty and slow I've become, make a habit and don't ever even stop for a day on drawing, it'll be a lot harder to get back to it again. What i've done of the traditional piece as of today. *dizzy* taking break, before going over the digital one and later the Traditional one again.

Basically you have to start with a big canvas, then zoom in to do the lineart. It's kinda like you're "coloring in" the lines.
