Title: Wall Help
Post by: Griffin_Claws on March 03, 2006, 07:25:24 PM
Okes, I'm having a problem with walls. I have followed a Dwarras House Interiors tut. And I can get it to look right and every thing but when I go to test it my chara walks through the walls.....Can anyone help me with this. Thanks in advance.

Yep, go to tools > Database > Tileset > Select the one you are using > on the right hand side there should be a button named "Passability" > make sure the area that you are having problems with has an "X" in all areas you do not want your character to be able to pass through. The "X" means no passage.

Okes this is the room I made

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f219/Griffin_Claw/Mat.jpg
This is the normal set up (Its the wall autotile)

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f219/Griffin_Claw/resul.jpg
This is the testing with the nromal set up.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f219/Griffin_Claw/mat2.jpg
This is the set up where the autotile is set with an 'X' (Its the wall autotile)

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f219/Griffin_Claw/resul2.jpg
This is the test where the autotile is changed with an 'X' (I know it looks the same as the other but its a different pic.)

And it does this through out the whole room....

just a note
walls once every 500 tiles forget what working is all about

if your wall forgot to block you use the wall tile as the 1st layer
no? use it for 1 and 2!
no? 1 2 and 3!
no? that's not possible ~.~

Yep, could do that too. But that's kind of leaving little to no room for added accessories, unless you event the pictures.

Never had a problem with it

i told you already, it's once every 500 tiles or so
the price you pay goes for 1 tile at a time, i would be shocked if more than 1 part of your wall acts like that
if it does then delete the map, start a new one

Make sure you have no walkable blank tiles on top of the walls...
