Post by: Irock on May 25, 2007, 06:04:15 PM
Mario Bros 3 Engine
I was surfing around Youtube when I found an awesome looking video of a Mario game, made in Game Maker.

It has a link to a Mario Bros 3 engine, and it looks pretty cool.

I've putzed around with this engine before, it works very well. Recently (my version of recently so you know) they released a gm6 of it, so now it'll work in the latest versions of GM.

You could always just romhack.

Romhacking is hella difficult though. Unless you've got something awesome like Lunar Magic.

This sentence is a link to the Super Mario Brothers 3 Utility Page of the best ROMhacking website on the net. (http://www.romhacking.net/?Category=&Console=1&Game=750&Author=0&Recm=&Level=&utilsearch=++Go++&title=&dsearch=&page=utils&action=utillist)

Also, they have utilities for a bunch of other games, (all systems) as well as pages and pages of fantrans and completed hacks. I have literally spent hours here getting lost in it all. I recommend "SMILE", or "Super Metroid Integrated Level Editor", and Temporal Flux. Temporal Flux is a Microsoft .net program that allows you to sincerely build your own game with the Chrono Trigger engine.

Have fun, and you're welcome.~

PS. I know this is kind of one big ad, but I figure it will be useful to people here, and I'm just trying to be kind anyway.

This is fine, I'm cool with it. :D As long as it kinda...stops here. If anything else needs to be said though, feel free to just post it in this topic, and I'll take that as a signal to move it into a new topic in the VG section.
