Title: Finished Project Index
Post by: modern algebra on March 24, 2007, 10:23:24 PM
Okay, here is a list and links to all the finished games I could find. If I missed anyone, I am sorry, it is entirely accidental. Just post here and I will add you. The criteria is merely that it has to be finished. It can be your first game; it can be a joke; it can be a massacre of RPG Maker, it doesn't matter as long as it's finished. I just felt that for anyone wanting to play finished games, it might be helpful to have an index, instead of having to look through the entire board. So, here it is:

ACT and Light [FA] Season 1: Make A Choice!, by excallos (2k3)

http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,32762.0.html (http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,32762.0.html)
Spoiler for Teaser:
"I've been trapped here in an endless desert for what feels like an eternity now. I've had no food, no water, no company, no sleep. By all means I should be dead by now, but somehow I haven't yet died. I don't know how I came to be here, or when I came to be here. I don't even know where exactly "here" is. I only know that every waking moment spent here is a torture you cannot possibly imagine...  But I will find an escape from this hell, I will survive. I have been fated to suffer here for eternity, but hopelessness is only for those who surrender to destiny, and I refuse to give in to my fate."

An Empty Present - I am waiting for one, by Hayop Ka! (XP)
http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,31547.0.html (http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,31547.0.html)
Spoiler for Teaser:
“It’s been twelve years. I still haven’t got a present. My parents always forget to give me one. But my brother, he always have one every Christmas. It’ll be days before the Christmas. I am wishing for a present. I will be waiting for it.”

Aptos Adventures: DX, by nickmasterx (2k3)
http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,31351.0.html (http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,31351.0.html)
Spoiler for Teaser:
The story is somewhat based on my life. Most of the characters were my friends from high school and it takes place in a fictionalized Aptos, California located in the greater Santa Cruz Archipelago. The year is 20XX, (okay, like 2003 if we're going by which of my classes are in the game  :gwa:)
Nick is an ordinary high school student about to start his first day of a new semester. Meanwhile his family is kidnapped by a vengeful teacher. What begins as a quest to rescue them unfolds into an EPIC BATTLE TO SAVE THE WORLD. Yeah, it's cliche, but what do you expect, I was like 16 when I started making this.
Aptos Adventures 2 will have a way better story, instead it's an EPIC BATTLE TO SAVE THE UNIVERSE.

The Beyond, by Dark Gaia (VX)
http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,33125.0.html (http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,33125.0.html)
Spoiler for Teaser:
The Beyond is a freeware survival horror/adventure game created with RPG Maker VX. It is a psuedo sequel to the game One Night, however the story and locations are unrelated to the previous game and this game serves as a stand alone game.
The Beyond is not a normal RPG Maker game. In The Beyond, you find yourself trapped in a "haunted" mansion known as The Beyond, and are soon under attack by a strange, and evil power. Using your brain and your reflexes, you must think and fight your way to safety, solving puzzles and defeating horrifying enemies to make your escape.
In order to escape the terror, you'll first need to understand the cause of the nightmare. Make sure you collect all the clues so that you can understand the fate that has befallen the mansion. But, be careful. You are always in danger, and it is easy to let the fear overwhelm you. Don't give in to the evil.

Carlsev Saga: Episode I, by Deckiller (2k)
http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,25473.0.html (http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,25473.0.html)
Spoiler for Teaser:
Volume one of an epic trilogy, Carlsev Saga is a political and historical fiction. The story is similar to games like Final Fantasy Tactics, Ogre Battle, Xenosaga, and Xenogears; elements from other media such as 24 are also present. Make sure you stick with the game: what may seem cliche at first may end up surprising you

Carlsev Saga: The Special Edition, by Deckiller (2k)
http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,32488.0.html (http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,32488.0.html)
Spoiler for Teaser:
The expanded version of my first game, Carlsev Saga Episode I, is available for download! This game may not have elaborate custom systems, but it has received excellent feedback from testers.

Spoiler for Teaser:
The end of the school year is rapidly approaching, finals a few weeks off, and the seniors were feeling pretty good about themselves.  Their class would be leaving soon, and no longer subject to the tyrannical power trip of the school's administration.  But the year had been a bit too quiet for a group of people.  Fights began to break out in the halls, unchecked, due to the lack of teacher involvement.  NAMKCOR and AltelierKnight are caught in the middle of this chaos.....and are LOVING IT!

Dark Eternal: Dissolution, by Zenogias (XP)
http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,6818.0.html (http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,6818.0.html)

Do You Remember My Lullaby, by Reives (XP)
http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,31455.0.html
Spoiler for Teaser:
Lullaby is a short simple story that takes time during the holiday seasons. No tension, nothing epic, and barely any dialogues - It is a short story told through a complete cut-scene in the form of a semi-music video with its original soundtrack (hence please play with sound on only). The short story itself is non-interactive, and took about 10 times the effort of The Mirror Lied to make. It does perhaps start off a bit slow though, so my apologies, and please hang on.

Dragon Fantasy II, by Lavata (2k)
http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,32102.0.html
Spoiler for Teaser:
It has been 100 years since the end of the first Dragon Fantasy. Veryl has been destroyed and the planet's original power has been restored. However, even the Crystal's could not destroy the power of the Dark Lord comletely. Instead, they destroyed the castle's outer shell and contained the vast power of Venaitura within a sphere of light.

But now...the skies once again are covered with a vast and expansive wave of darkness. The temple where the orb was contained had been breached and the power of Venaitura stolen! Using it's power, a fiend by the name of Emperor Xyan has opened a gateway to the Dark World and has called forth a plethora of demons to do his bidding.

You are the Hero's decendant. Having the blood of the legendary Hero who had defeated Veryl, the King of Zebon calls you and your allies to his chamber. He tells you of your duty, and thus you must embark on an epic quest in order to save your homelands from destruction once again!

Epic Monster Dungeon Explore 2, by Craze (VX)
http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,29571.0.html (http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,29571.0.html)
Spoiler for Teaser:

A while ago I played a game called Epic Monster Dungeon Explore. It was a visual basic game where you clicked "attack" to kill stuff. Simple, fun, complex (stat-building was complex-ish, anyway). Yesterday, I decided to use the idea of fast-paced battling and grinding in a RMVX rpg made in three hours. I almost finished it in that time, but since I didn't quite make the deadline the game got an overhaul of polish, and later testing from Karsuman. The entire project was completed in less than two days.

Ever Blue, by Ocean (2k3)
http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,32701.0.html (http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,32701.0.html)
Spoiler for Teaser:
Ever Blue was intended to be a side scrolling shooter. While it still retains some aspects of it, I think of it more as a side view action RPG. You have 2 UFOs, yours and your friend. Your friend can die, but will be revived eventually. You have 3 lives, which after that it’s game over. You start with a basic range 5 shot, which is slow to fire. After finding crystals, you can upgrade your firing rate, you can use them to regenerate health, you can set a temporary shield, or upgrade your weapon. You can hold 5 crystals at most.

The weapons are the straight fire shot, Double fire shot (Which fires one shot from above the ship horizontally and one below the ship horizontally), Triple fire shot (2 diagonal shots, and one straight one), and the Horizontal shot (One shot in front and one behind). You can upgrade your friends firing rate, but their weapon can only be upgraded once.

Flashbulb Madness, by Priest of Juubli (2k3)
http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,29195.0.html (http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,29195.0.html)
Spoiler for Teaser:
Okay, this is a higher-rank priest of Juubli, covering for the ignorance of my low-ranked (now, more low than ever) fellow priest. For your information, Juubli is the positive side of the Creator and we worship him for he brings order where bugs and glitches once ruled.

The world of the Flashbulb Madness contains what you people would call a custom Battle system, a custom Menu system, a custom Dialogue system, about 400 common events and several thousands switches and variables (combined). It took many years for our world to materialize or so the legends say!

I can't really help you with a story, potential playing hours or anything like that though. Things are not as simple. What I can tell you however is that rumors of Ogrebeard's loot have re-surfaced and I believe it's the perfect timing for you guys to visit our world! Perhaps, you'll be the lucky bastard that unearths the loot.

Spoiler for Teaser:
"Frog, The Collector" is a game loosely based around the concept of the arcade classic "Frogger".

You play as Frog, a decidedly hungry chap who believes that the easiest way for him to gather food is to collect the scraps of fruit that bored, bratty children and stupid, unwashed truck-drivers throw out of their windows when they get bored of staring at the tarmac in front of them. Unfortunately for Frog, this means dancing with bumpers, frolicking with hubcaps and jumping past tyres...

"But a frog's gotta do what a frog's gotta do..."

Review: http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,28976.0.html (http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,28976.0.html)
Spoiler for Teaser:
I was escorted from my room by two men in white.  They were wearing hoods, so I couldn't see their faces.  The walls in which we walked were as white as their outfits; kept bleach white and clean by nightly janitors that scrubbed off any mess with industrial-strength detergent and stiff bristled brushes.  They made the most peculiar scratching noise...

The man in front of me opened a door and lead me in.  The room was nice, medium sized, with just enough decoration to catch the eye, but not so much as to clutter the room.  It was all very neat and orderly, as was the man who stood behind the desk on one side of the room.

"Ahh you brought him.  Thank You.  You may leave now."

Judgement, by Forcyctus (XP)

That's when I saw it, sky was dark as night, then, out of the sea came a huge shake as beams of red light were being shone allover the place. Then, a black streak shot out of the earth and went straight towards heaven. Then there was a loud explosion, and everything was normal again...or was it?

Play Judgement, save the judgemaster, save the world.

Kazekem is the worst city, with a lot of thugs, assassins, and theives. Slash Kuromasou is one of the 'better' thieves of Kazekem, and when he works with the king of theives, Sasuke, then he pretty much kicks butt at his job. Searching for a sacred jewel known as the 'wind jewel', that is said to be carried by someone in the city, Slash(who is you) notices some weird looking guys. You soon find out they are soldiers of an army known as Qasutoy. The army of Qasutoy plans to rule the world, and decide to conquer Kazekem to use as a fortress for them. So of course, Slash is a skilled theif, so he steals some stuff from them, but in the end, has to get rid of them and Kazekem. I'm not gonna tell you why yet.

Midnight: Genesis Project, by Zylos (XP)
http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,32862.0.html (http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,32862.0.html)
Spoiler for Teaser:
"It's been two years since I returned from Devil's Island. Two years since the nightmare had started, and two years since I began my campaign to bring GENETECH, the corporation behind in the incident, to justice for their crimes. So many people died because of what they did, and as the only known survivor it was my duty to make the truth known. But, with no proof of my claims, my accusations fell on deaf ears and eventually the blame was turned onto myself instead. I became GENETECH's scapegoat, and was arrested for the murder of those who had died on the island. My lawyer and I put up the best defense that we could, but it was no use under GENETECH's influence. I was found guilty and sentenced to death. I became a "serial killer" in the papers and in the eyes of the public, though the real criminals were sitting in corporate office chairs hundreds of miles away.

Now, I'm due to be executed by lethal injection here tonight at midnight. However, I feel dark winds in the air, as though evil itself has other plans for me. Lady Luck has always gotten me through in the past, but tonight, only time will tell what fate awaits me..."

The only clue in your possession is an ornate matchbox with the initials “A.C.” written on it. You have but one objective on your mind now: to find an escape from this place.

Spoiler for Teaser:
In a world called Esviore, three races lived in constant struggle,  and through long lasting wars they finally reached a time of peace. The three races involved in the great wars are Man, beings who walk on the world’s skin, Sahagin, beings who roam the world’s blood and tear, and oculus, beings who watch and exist in the in-between. Through ages of constant death and destruction,, the civilization of both the humans and sahagins rapidly developed into advanced civilizations on both so- called worlds – all thanks to the conflict they faced for a very long time. Although they developed many aspects of their civilization, the rage of war between these two races still continues on until the oculus finally appeared to them – or rather sent them a sign – gave both of the races a solution on how to resolve their problem, by sealing each other on different worlds. Man was given the blessings of staying in esviore, while the sahagins were granted to continue to prosper in the deepest of the oceans – a place the humans will not be able to reach. Then there was a time of peace, one that lasts for hundreds of years.

The only caveat is that I can't edit the scripts-- there's some Japanese in the menu and in battle, but it isn't enough to hinder gameplay much (if at all). All of the important words are in English.

All hope seemed to be lost... until Five Heroes arose and were chosen for their courage, pure hearts, and fierceness to stop the evil from spreading the dark empire. Of course, some of the five didn't know that they were heroes, and the villagers didn't know this either. Later, one of the Five knew this and quickly set out to tell the other Five...

Doo, a friend of Warrior Dee's, is troubled because he saw peculiar Dees outside his house. He asks Dee if he could battle the Dees and drive them out.

"Dee, could you help me drive out some of those strange dees?"

"Well, Doo. I can only try."

And high above Popstar, the spirits whispered, "The Five Have Come At Last..."

I have it
('s where I got some animation sets and some modern day stuffz)
It's dreadfully brutal, and I can't believe that people actually made it.  But after playing it I understand the message they were trying to put out
I almost cried when they did a slide show of the aftermath :tpg:
(then the characters were trasnported to hell, and that entire feeling of understanding was completely broken down)

oh yeah, it was made with RPGMaker 2000 to clear anything up
(lots of people I know claimed that they 'must have made it in XP' because of the First person battle system)

Well prepare to be even more disapointed because I am currently working on making the game longer with some fanfic material (columbin himself authorized this and even encouraged it).
Soon after that, I'll probably make my own original game featuring more sociopathic and downright brutal behavior ;D

Its really similar, but really different. Its the same story / plotline, it just goes in a different direction over 3 long chapters. I think I've played it for 15 hours to test it and I've been able to beat it. Everyone else however has played it less than an hour... its quite discouraging.

And dominicko, totally go for it.  I think said spoiler intros would be a great touch to your list.

That's us now got a list for active projects, abandoned projects and finished projects.  Sadly, the abandoned one is like 9 pages longer than the other two  :-\
