Print Page - Dyna Edition

Ok, my problem is as follows:

I need a copy of the rare Dyna Edition of RMXP. I need it for some testing/hacking purpose, but I can't find it ANYWHERE. :( So, if you somebody of you knows where I can download it or even has it, I would be grateful if you could help me out.

What does it have that the Other RMXP Editions don't have if I may ask? ?_?

The "Show Message" event command is not screwed up and can let you type 4 lines. Aad that's just one of the advantages. ;)

It's quite hard to find that I can tell.

It's easier to find it if you try not to use the term Dyna Edition. Rareley somebody even knows its name, lol!

I think, I might know where to get it, I'm kind of hot on my searches, so, I get searching for it right away.

Until you find it I suggest a combination of R&W and the legal version.

Hmm, I'm curious about DYNA aswell, I already have RMXP 1.02 and Postiality Knight Edition, but DYNA preplexes (Did I spell that right?) me.

This reminds me of when I started this thread about attaining the secret banned "October Man" book. The thread was like over 10 pages in a month everyone looking for it and none of us found it. a year later the SOB was being sold for 10$ on ebay. lol. But if anyone find it I want it! =) BTW - what do you mean by using a combination of the two? putting rmxp files into PK or what?

Since Dyna and PK are both hacks of the original japanese RMXP and all of them have bugs (even the legal one), I thought, "How about improving the basic scripts, hacking my way through the 3 executables of PK, Dyna and legal and finally make an RMXP that works?" I would call it Hybrid Edition. So, now it's out. Yes, I am planning on making another RMXP Edition. I would be like a legend for coming generations using RMXP. xD
And I want to give something back to the community, something that is more useful than any script by me or anybody else and something that cannot be done by any scripter, that cannot be done by any human except a few.

That's a very ambitious project, and I'm sure you'll do very well, knowing your skill in programming, Blizzard. I think I'll devote some of my time to helping you out. *goes to look*

Could you also make the Enter key thing easier to use... more like it was in 2003?

Are you also going to add thing from 95-2003 that were taken out?

-side view battle system
-easy vocab changing

Actually I haven't planned to add any stuff, I only wanted to improve the usual scripts like removing the lag in battle when the message window is visible and such. But I might add a useful thing or two.

yeah, some things definetally need to be included.

You should make your own RTP aswell...then I will have something to look forward to!

Scripting and hacking the RPGXP.exe isn't needed, I'll do that.

So what kind of script does it use? Is it going it be hard?

Script?! LOL! That would be like awesome if it was that easy. Try to open any .exe in Notepad and you'll see what I'll have to mess around with: compiled code.

But don't you translate it into a different font or something? I thought it looked odd like that because it wasn't in the right font, and letters were being translated into the wrong characters.

It's machine code, actual 0 and 1. Every 4 characters are one instruction for the CPU mainly (or 8 characters if you have a 64bit CPU and a 64bit Windoze).

Ah it reminds me of my days when I was being taught the l337 \/\/45 0|= |-|4xx0r1|\|G and programing. A pity I can't remember a thing about it now. Eh, it wasn't for me. I wasn't l337 enough. I failed. x :lol:

Would you mind explaining any of the other advantages this version has?

Dyna? At least it has a "four lines" message input window. =/ That's reason enough for me to hack and fix that in the legal one.

Give the message input window a horizontal scrollbar.
That way one can enter as many codes without caring for the width of the line.
