Story:
Spoiler for:
In the city of Kazekem, it is a vile place. There is currently no paradise in the world, but that doesn't mean there aren't any trying to achieve it. Kazekem is the worst city, with a lot of thugs, assassins, and theives. Slash Kuromasou is one of the 'better' thieves of Kazekem, and when he works with the king of theives, Sasuke, then he pretty much kicks butt at his job. Searching for a sacred jewel known as the 'wind jewel', that is said to be carried by someone in the city, Slash(who is you) notices some weird looking guys. You soon find out they are soldiers of an army known as Qasutoy. The army of Qasutoy plans to rule the world, and decide to conquer Kazekem to use as a fortress for them. So of course, Slash is a skilled theif, so he steals some stuff from them, but in the end, has to get rid of them and Kazekem. I'm not gonna tell you why yet.

Characters:
Spoiler for:
All the characters in this game are important, except for monsters and Qasutoy soldiers, so I'm not gonna list them all here. But I will say the main guy's(Slash) um... definition, and tell you the names of, and what they do, etc. of all the other characters..

Slash (real name=Malus)-
A very wild boy as a child, and when he got older(age 7), he was abandoned by his parents and cast into the ocean. When he emerged from the ocean, a man who called himself Iklimov raised Malus as his son. When Malus couldn't take any more parenting, he secretly left Iklimov, put on a disguise, and called himself "Slash, the theif".

Sasuke(real name=Sinder)-
Sinder was originally Malus' best friend when he first arrived in Kazekem, but after a while, became his greatest rival, but still a friend on the inside. He is now the king of theives and is known by all in Kazekem by the name of "Sasuke". He is a better theif than Slash.

Garreth-
A leader of the Qasutoy army.

Gran-
Wise and young, Gran is often in the library zapping the heck out of stuff, rather than being in the chaos of the city.

Joseki-
A Murderer and a savior. Little is know about him, and he has been know to do some very odd things, which someone nowadays would consider strange. No one has ever seen his face, and he is always wearing a bandanna.

Kodav-
A pirate by trade, a theif stole his ship while he was Kazekem delivering goods. He doesn't talk about his past, but now fits in pretty well with the city.

Mac-
No one really cares about Mac. He tells weird stories and sells items, weapons, and other things. In the game, I MIGHT make it possible to steal from Mac.

Grutath-
A barbarian living on the outskirts of Kazekem.

Clevin-
A young warrior who lost his way travelling, and got stuck in Kazekem. He has a good heart, and tries to stop any thieves he catches.

Boron-
Raze's right hand man in the Qasutoy army.

Giovanni-
The high ranking assassin of the Qasutoy army.

Guy-
A punk who lives in Kazekem.

Raze-
The leader and founder of the Qasutoy army. He is merciless, and will make deals with enemies if he so pleases.

Janet-
Just some girl in Kazekem.

Arefia-
Another girl who lives in Kazekem.

sorry for putting down your game. i think it has an interesting plot that gives off a sort of retro feel. which if performed correctly  can be a good thing.
maybe instead of slash you could name the main character , Vance, Kasvn, or Hwain, i dunno anyway good luck with your game :D

Thanx for the apologizing.
The only reason the game takes place in the future is because it would seem most logical because there would be more technology and stuff.
You'll understand when you play it. And Vance is the name of the main guy in dark age.

And HaloOfTheSun, I e-mailed you about 5 musics for what else I need, so keep it up unless your bored of making music for me.

I hope you all will like my game when I show some screenshots and release a demo, because I'm hoping this game will look a bit better than how my previous game, The Final Age, did. I'm thinking because my last game had a lot of final fantasy tilesets and stuff, so anyway, this game is probably going to be a lot better on resources at least. If what I just said didn't make sense, thats okay, because I didn't understand it either.

I just converted my game into rpg maker 2003.
Its easier to make the side-view battle system.
And it has a better text.

Schwa... I also luv it.

But BLEARG! For some unknown reason, This one chipset in my game disobeys me! I set all the movement stuff & such, but there are about 10 spots where I put an "X" so that you don't step on it and I put a "square" on a cieling tile, but the cieling works like a "star" and some of the "xs" work as "Os".

BLEARG! Someone fix this problem.
Or tell me how to fix this problem!

i don't know about the squares... but sometimes if you put one layer which has an X tile and another which has an O one it'll accept it as an O X_X or vice verca ofcourse

WAIT!
I haven't really started making any maps yet, but I can just whip up some random cool looking stuff with the chipsets I'm using because when you see screenshots or something, it usually doesn't show anything in the game, just some random cool stuff. So Screenshots can come soon.

Don't forget to give suggestions for sidequests, for I want to have at least 20 in all. I have 3 right now.

The story is cool...  yeah...  As for the chipsets acting up, it's never happened with me, at least not with RM2k3...  But for sidequests...

Never underestimate the power of FAIRY QUEENS!!  Have a fairy queen somewhere who's all like, "Save my kingdom!" so you have to go save the fairies.

Maybe that doesn't work in futuristic games.

Hmm.  You should maybe have mini-games where you can steal stuff from shops instead of buying them.  But if you fail, you get in a lot of trouble...  Hey, that's be pretty interesting.

Maybe I should get that "rm2k3 v.09" because it has bug fixes, one which may be my problem of now!

no. too lazy. I got a different chipset to use, and it looks schnazzy. I also got a good amount of [in-game] monsters done, along with their sprites for BATTLE!

And....
Lets see....

I can start making my game when I get.....

MORE QUEST SUGGESTIONS! I still only have 3, so bring me any ideas you want!(as long as their decent, and don't sound retarded like what Yossy said. There is no kingdom; there are no fairies). kapeesh? Remember that I will only accept quests for characters that aren't Raze, Boron, Giovanni, or that other guy. Cause their the badguys and if you want to see all the characters names and who they are, go to page 1 of this topic. PLEASE SUPPORT! This isn't very hard. I'm open to suggestions from anybody.

Battle backgrounds- I'll make these myself.

AND THEN I CAN START MAKING MY GAME!!!!! EOOT!

Okay.  Robo-fairies.  There.  Fairies of the FUTURE!!

Really, though.  Maybe you could have a weird... cooking... mini-game...  Food is good.

You could always take the Zelda approach... an extremely long and grueling trading sequence in order to obtain a rare and ultimately useful item.

Or the Baten Kaitos approach.  Collecting the Constellation Magnus throughout the entire game in order to hear an easily missed snippet of the plot...  Like, you could have some guy say "If you find any [item name here] on your quest, bring them to me!" and he gives you stuff after you find some...  or something.

But don't forget the robo-fairies.  :wink:

But believe it or not, I have never played fire emblem in my life, I just saw all the gnarly FE battle sprites at http://feplanet.net or something & I was like, "oh my god! These would work well with my game!"

So I'm glad you think it looks cool. :D

If you look in my sig, it has a picture of every pc's battler & character sprites and some of them(such as the guy on the far right) really don't fit together.

And as Yossy said- I tried.

one thing- the screenshots aren;t at all futuristic, eexcept MAYBE the one withthe soldier in it. a futuristic city like kazekem would be alot more stark, metal, and big- think, Midgar from ff7...and then the world map is kinda neah because of the same reasons. after you fix this itll be better. oh, and inside that house...i dont think anybody in a place like kazekem would have two knight-armor stands...heh

Chya.
No, those aren't actual parts of the game, except the title screen.
But it was pretty hard to find a good inner chipset, so....

And I think good futureistic maps would be the one with the guard in it & the one with all the shiny blue lights and blue fire.

I got all chipsets & stuff at charas, but if you could find a good inner, overworld, and... thats it. Could you find me a better one?

Originally, I was going to use a "suikoden 2" inner chipset, but that was the one I was having a lot of problems with.

And the city isn't made of metal. The screenshot with the guard in it, probably does not show any actual chips I'm using of that chipset..

I'll post what the city will really look like in a bit, along with a battle. But, please help with the inner, & overworld. :)

I'VE GOT IT!!  It's Joseki who's missing.  He's the little guy in the cloak.  He's entirely hidden behind the big pirate-guy.  The only reason I know this is because I watched DragonMagna make these screenshots XD

The reason people are standing on houses and in barrels-
None.( I don't intend to have people in barrels or on rooftops in the real game.)

Anyway, heres whats going on in the battle picture-
The guy at the bottom is doing his default attack, which is his *jump! flippy flippy* thing, and he covers about half the pirate, and half the kid(who is not a kid in the game), and the pirate covers half the kid, so its almost impossible to see him. I'll get you another screenshot of a battle showing them all sanding still, so you can tell whats what.

And I spaced out everything with the terrain settings as much as possible, & the only way to spread them out more is to change their animations...
Because I made the characters in the "animation" folder so they can all fit, and have as many frames as I want. :o

But a nice battleback, no?

EDIT! Don't forget to show me some sweet inner & overworld chipsets (future styled), and make sure they're in 2003 format. Otherwise, I'll use what I'm using.

It is a very nice battleback...  I don't know where you could find futuristic chipsets... try requesting them in the Resources forum.  Or go to Charas and search for "future" or "futuristic" or something.

Those chipsets are uber sweet. :D But theres too much "in space" & stuff with them, so I MIGHT not use them. But they look remearkably like the chipsets in Kindred Saga!
And I got several from Phylomortis, so... No MORE CHIPSETS FOR ME!

NOW I can make all that other stuff & start making my game.

Yeah, I did. I hurt my arm and now it hurts to write on the keyboard & stuff, so I haven't been able to work on my game much. :cry:
But I did make all the battlebacks myself, and heres an example of what the new "inner" will look like. I made it by combining like 10 chipsets. :lol:
And I've decided to keep the overworld the same, and schmaybe edit it a bit.

Hey, heres something schnazzy! All I hafta to do is make items & spells and finish my menu system, and THEN I CAN ACTUALLY BEGIN MY GAME! I'll release a demo when I'm done with the basics just to show off how its going to look, so you don't spend 2 hours downloading my game, and then your like "man, this game sucks!"

But I don't think anyone will do that.

Book of Days is the one I'm working on now.  The original Futaiten was on Rm2k.

Seriously though, I think it's going to be a pretty schweet game. Although, there are few bugs here and there with the menu, but I'm sure you already know about them. And you're using rm2k3 right? I think you need to add a status option in the menu.

There was, but there was NO part of the actual game in it. Just some quickly made maps and some basic stuff. And that demo is 5 minutes long, and this one should be about an hour long, with story and everything. So, yeah! :D

Something is just off about this game. I played the demo.....and yeah, you need to balance the battles somewhat. I mean 5 against 1 is hardly fair and it slows the ATB down to a crawl. I recommend making 4 the maximum amount of enemies you'll ever have to fight at one time, but not with one party memer still. And the battles...were fairly boring. Try to mix it up a little, add some features. Some that I'm doing are a magic waiting system where at the start of battles you have 0 MP and you have to 'charge' you mp to use spells, Having to attack a number of times before your physical skills are usuable. golden sun style unleashes, in game character customization, and so on. And the mapping could use a lot of work, no offense. And I don't think the characters matched thier battlers at all. But I must ask, if you have a nice looking party CMS, that shows that you have some ability, then why is the rest of the game...well, mediorcre? Sorry if I'm coming off as harsh, but I think you need the straight facts without sugarcoating. Good luck on the next demo

That is the meanest thing anyone has ever said to me about rpg maker in my life.

But I happen to think my maps are somewhat decent, especially because it isn't just grass and walls with monsters. It has a lot of other unnecessary random stuff put in.

The only thing I can agree with you is the battle system. The monsters  don't really have any "special skills" or anything, and basically the battles are just if you hurt the enemy with what element you are(e.g. main guy is earth, so he can't hurt earth enemies, but I don't explain that in the demo).

BUT after the first part of the game, then you can have 4 people on your team with 6 choices of characters, so I figure that's enough. I though I was being pretty creative with this game. :(

AND GETTING THOSE BATTLERS TO SLIGHTLY MATCH TO THE CHARACTERS WAS REALLY REALLY HARD!!!!

But if someone is willing to make animated battlers for me, then feel free. I can't pay you or anything, but it would be kind of nice to have battlers that look like the characters. So if someone could please do that for me, I would love you. :wink:

I've played it and I give it... hmmm... an 8.5/10

I agree with blackdragon on everything but I have two more comments:

Too many monsters in battle. (Although this has been mentioned before already.)

And some of the maps seemed a little too big. Like inside houses and stuff. Or maybe that was just me?

But, overall it's really good and I look forward to playing some more!

EDIT: Oh yeah! Some of the music needs to... uh... "transition" better. I don't really know how to describe what I mean right now...  :?

You mean "loop"? When the music ends and starts over it sounds kinda weird. I thought that at first, but I began to just settle with it after a while. 8)

Skie fortress isn't doing anything about the battle animations or anything. :|
I'll try to get rid of that 5-on-1 battle in the beginning; I also thought it was kinda hard. :|

Wow. An 8.5 out of 10... That's probably the best I've ever done before with rpg maker in my life. Thank you HaloOfTheSun and Blackdragon. That was very nice.

So heres what's going to happen:
The battlers won't change until further notice.
HaloOfTheSun, shutup, I like your music and I think it loops fine.
I stopped working on the game for a few days waiting for opinions from people, but now that I'm getting good reviews, I'll start it up again. :D
And the houses are kinda big, I think, too, but I made every house the smallest size possible. Except for Sasuke, but he lives in the meeting hall, so.... :?

SO- I'm just going to keep working on the game exactly how it is.

I made them with the loop in mind, so they all loop OK, but I mean, sometimes one song plays for like a second or two and then immediately switches to another song. It just seems pointless to have that one or two seconds of a song... oh I don't know, I guess I'm just being picky.  :?

Yes, the characters have the weapons they would use in the game.

So-
Slash: 2 Daggers
Sasuke: Some glove-punchy thing
Gran: (I don't even know a "force" is.) some other punchy thing
Clevin: A big sword
Grutath: A big ax
Kodav: 2 axes
Joseki: A chain sword(like a one-part sword-chuck)

If you could do that for me, that would be great.
All I need is a standing pose, and an attacking pose for each character.

bump.

I decided to quit that one other game that I was programming. Its just way too hard.
(back to game)
But for a strange, unknown reason, a character in my game who lived in the city got their house map deleted. It was still there, with the same name, but the entire environment and events were gone. So I had to make it over from how it was at the beginning of the game. Oh well.

Skie Fortress stopped making Battlers for me, so I decided to make them myself.

But the reason I post today is just to say I finally got a program to change the rpg_rt icon and the splash screen, added more skills to the enemies and characters (each enemy has at least 2 attack options), and made all the battlers for all the characters, and lastly, made the facesets for the characters. I think I already mention that, though.
And I'm at the beginning of chapter 3 of 4 in the game, so yeah.
Just news to you all.
